Marcos Victorino. Again, it depends on the branch.

Marcos Victorino. It is very much at the discretion of the individual branch. Some just do not like the extra paperwork and it's easier to say no, others know farangs can bring additional money into their branch and possibly push up their monthly targets. I've opened three accounts, none with certificate of residency, two wiyh showing lease and one with just a TM30 receipt. I have always taken a Thai person with me, which seems to grease the machinery a little, but again it's not absolutely necessary. Opening a bank account in Thailand is a very hit-and-miss affair and there's definitely no "one size fits all"

. It all depends on the level of anal retentiveness of the Immigration Officer. I always work on the principal of give them everything plus two copies. They will give you back anything they don't need. An interesting anecdote to keep in mind. My friend renewed a marriage extension and provided the usual photos of him outside his house etc. It just so happened he's a big Queensland Rugby League fan and he happens to be wearing the same Rugby shirt in the photos, and the immigration officer accused him of using photos from the year before! It was only after careful explanation from his wife (who was wearing different clothes from the year before) and his hair was a little shorter. Even though the IO accepted it, apparently it was done with great reluctance! So keep that in mind at your next extension! 🤣

Always keep in mind it is a requirement to have your 90-day report receipt in your passport, even though immigration can see it on your record

Best advice is to hold off for a couple of months. I don't know if you're aware but much of Thailand is in a curferwed lockdown, with domestic travel severely limited. There are only a dozen or so domestic flights each week and none of them through Bangkok, so all travel is by road (limited rail) at the mercy of minivan drivers, or expensive taxi services. Anywhere you go, most things are closed. There is an almost nationwide ban on alcohol in restaurants, all bars, pubs, nightclubs are closed. Many beaches and all parks (national and municipal) are closed. Unless you have a desire to assist with rice-growing in Isaan, there's not much activity at the moment!

Travis Booth. Dumb farangs love paying thousands of baht to visa agents totally unnecessarily, and will then complain about "double pricing". I just shake my head at how much naivety there is amongst expats.

I don't know if photos are done at MTT. There is a cranky lady who does photocopying, but the last time I was there (which is some months back) there was no photo facilities. Perhaps someone else who has been to MTT recently can elaborate? As far as being first in if you get there at 8.30, my previous experience is I got there at 8.00 and there was already about 10,000 people (perhaps an exaggeration, but there were a lot!) in front of me. However, you should be ok for reasonably fast turnaround at 8.30

Kathy Eagle Justice. I'll have to remember that trick! Although the second time is not so bad. The first one is just a total surprise. I didn't have pain, but I had an uncomfortable sensation for a couple of days.

Kathy Eagle Justice. Haha! It feels like that, but it's just that we're not used to having things shoved up our noses. It's a most interesting experience!

He's doing something wrong. I registered on the 60+ website, got an email with a date and time, and a confirmation SMS the night before. Turned up at Bang Sue, from walking in to walking out about one hour 15 minutes, which included the 30 mins observation time after you've had the shot. No good turning up, they only do walk-ins for 75+. He's doing it wrong. I made three new farang friends whilst I was there, so there's a few doing it!
