Scot Smith. If it's a proper hotel, not a hostel or Airbnb I would take your reservation notice and your receipt to immigration. It is the responsibility of the hotel to do this, and the blame should be placed with them. I've never known a hotel not to do this, it's generally private landlords who try to avoid it

Easiest way is BTS to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat station, then get a cab from the roundabout under the station. As far as photos go, the last time I was there about months there was no facility to take photos. That may have changed, so someone else is in this group might have more up to date info. There's one place that does photocopies, there's normally a queue so do that first, and beware of the cranky lady who runs it! 🤣
