Not quite correct. Thailand isn't a "tax haven" so any money you bring into the country is subject to taxation if you're here for more than 180 days in the calendar year. I say "subject" to tax, because it's possible for several reasons that tax won't be payable in Thailand, but money brought in might still have to be declared

Many expats meltdown over the 300 baht entry fee to national parks, so I doubt they'd be happy paying 7500 for a 1900 extension

We're talking about re-entering. I wish border immigration would check on retirees, all those on agency extensions would be denied entry
