This morning I went to apply for a re entry permit to travel in October, however I was refused because I didn't have a TM 30, ( Phuket immigration) I don't recall having needed one before when applying for a re entry permit, interesting because apparently you can apply for a re entry permit at the Airport with only your passport, passport photo and copy of passport pages, anyone had experience with this situation and can update me on this predicament please. 🙏😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the author's recent experience applying for a re-entry permit at the Phuket immigration office, which was denied due to the absence of a TM30 form. The author recalls that they didn't need a TM30 in the past and expresses confusion over the current requirement. Comments reveal that a TM30 must be up-to-date to receive services at immigration offices in Thailand, while also noting that re-entry permits can be obtained at the airport without a TM30, albeit with additional fees and limited entry options.

Did they fine you? The tm30 is pretty much a revenue raising scheme. I've needed one for everything I've done at immigration

Always use the airport. Takes ten minutes. So easy

would never risk it.

Accident etc…resulting in you being late for the flight!

I make a habit of getting to the airport 2-3 hours before the flight. Gives heaps of time.

Thanks for the update.

The fact that you don't need a TM30 for a re-entry permit at the airport is probably due to the fact that you are in the process of leaving so your residence in Thailand has ceased/been suspended

especially with an illegal air BNB. Allegedly

and as it’s your landlord who produces it for you …. I was asked for one In Nonthaburi immigration yesterday….
Tracey ********
Who files the TM30 and how do you get a copy?
Brown ********
@Tracey *******
your landlord is supposed to but some won't and it's easy for them to avoid it because you as the tenant gets the fine from immigration and they tell you to get reimbursed by the landlord. A expat scam basically

It's pretty much a given that a TM30 needs to be filed for receiving any kind of service at an immigration office.

Yes it is now a requirement to have an up to date filed TM30 (with a Phuket address)in order to get a re-entry permit at the Phuket immigration office.

You are correct that at Phuket airport they’ll issue one with just your passport. They do however charge an “admin fee” of 500 baht if you don’t have the form, copies and photo.

Also I believe they will only sell you a single entry one not a multiple entry one.

@Stuart ********
they provide multiple entries as well for 4.500 THB

I've seen many reports that people could not get a multiple at the Phuket airport. Maybe it just depends who is working that day. But better to not count on it.
