I recently applied in Hanoi, and they asked me for additional documents 48 hours later. I waited another 10 days for approval. I only paid for a hotel reservation for the first week of my stay, but they requested reservations for my entire stay (60 days in my case), bank statements for the last 3 months, and return tickets.
