What should I do after my tourist visa was denied and how can I find a reliable visa agent in Thailand?

Hi all, my tourist visa was denied because when they asked for additional documentation it did not align with the original accommodation. I originally had an invitation to stay, and for the additional documentation supplied a hotel accommodation because the invitee is also on a tourist visa.

My visa was cancelled by the Thai Embassy.

So now I am looking for an agent to help me complete my visa to be sure it won’t be denied again!

I am looking for some recommendations of reputable companies and agents.

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares that their tourist visa was denied when they failed to provide consistent accommodation documentation. They are now seeking recommendations for reliable agents to assist with the visa application process to avoid future denials. Community members discuss various visa types, extensions applicable for US passport holders, provide suggestions for reputable agencies, and inform about the 60-day visa exemption and extensions.

Confused with this lol 😆 😅 🤣

How dare you, the Thai Embassy, denied her visa. She was invited by another "tourist visa" holder... To those bird brains, stay home. Do not embarrass your home country how they educate -unsuccessfully- their citizens...😜

no idea what you’re trying to say but it’s not helpful and you can keep your rude comments to yourself. I see from your previous comments that this is just how you are, but it’s not needed here. Cheers.

Depending on your passport country you may qualify for a 60 day on arrival exemption, which can be extended an additional 30 days. This can make applying for a tourist visa unnessary at this time.

Why did you need an invitation to stay? Just come in on a 60 visa exempt from the US and if you want to stay the full 90 days get a 30 day extension from immigration. You made it harder than it needed to be.

God bless you to gain your desired Thai visa ultimately.

@Tho***
they requested additional documentation- my accommodation for the entire length of my stay which is at a friends apartment.

When I asked I was under the impression the Visa Exemption was only 30 days so a total of 60 days wouldn’t have been sufficient.

Thanks for your curiosity.
Holger **************
There are also Visa Agencies in many Capital Cities

But IT seems you dont need ...enter with 60 days Visa exempt and make 30 day extension at the local Immigration office

How can an agent help with a tourist visa. For tourist visa you apply at an Embassy or Consulate abroad.

I had an agent when coming into Vietnam who made it a breeze with the visa process and expedited me through the rest of the process.

Since my visa was cancelled without reason, and I don’t want to risk my travel plans being averted, I was looking for a Thai agent to guide me through the process.

I’ve got it figured out, thanks 😉

You don’t need a tourist visa haha

You have a US passport, you don't need a visa for a 90 day stay.

@Steve ******
can you explain this? I thought for Visa Exempt it is 30 days + 30 day extension, for a total of 60 days
Pui *****
@Nelly ********
it's been 60 days + 30 day extension since almost a year ago. You don't need a tourist visa to stay 90 days. Tourist visas are also for 60 days and require the same 30 day extension so there's no point in getting one.

what Ron said.

But, some airlines don't let you board if you don't have a flight out within 60 days.

That's easily fixed by buying what's called an onward ticket, which is a real ticket that you "rent" for around $10 to show embassies or airlines, that then gets cancelled after a few days.

Google onward ticket, and scroll down to one of the unsponsored links and buy one there. Make sure to check how long it's valid, so you get one that's valid on the day you're flying.
Martin **********
@Steve ******
Yes. But again, be aware that there is more then one company offering this service. And a lot of them issue not real tickets. Indeed some do, but if you have the wrong one you are screwed.
Steve *******
@Martin *********
she can buy a new ticket at the check-in desk in 2 minutes. No one is screwed.
Martin **********
@Steve ******
Not at the same price probably, she pays also twice, and you not want this problem, before your flight.
Steve *******
@Martin *********
that isn't what "you're screwed" means. Have a nice day.

@Nelly ********
It's 60 visa exempt + 30 day extension you apply for at immigration for 1900 baht.

@Nelly ********
It is definitely 60 days , I entered on the same and i extended for another 30 days last Thursday at samut prakan immigration office and it took me about 90 minutes from arrival at the office to getting my passport back with the extension in it

@Steve ******
Just see that the flight company, not give trouble, as they not take in count the extension. So see that you have a cheap flight out, after 60 days. Please not say, not had any problem with this, many did.
Wayne ******
@Martin *********
pay 16 dollars and go to onward ticket
Martin **********
@Wayne *****
I used indeed one of these companies before. But you must be sure that the ticket is a real one, as 80 % of these tickets, are not a real one, or not valid at time of travel. A cheap company to Cambodia, Penang, other nearby country are very cheap. No need to register luggage or extra, as you are not using the ticket. Some companies check this. I even, was almost denied with a real ticket, agent stating it would be fake. I gave him a hard time to check it then.

First question is what is your passport Nationality?

Is there a reason that you want a tourist visa if you are able to get 60 days visa exempt entry?
Nelly *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Chris ******
American passport

I prefer the tourist visa because I will be taking courses in 2 places (they don’t help with ED visa), and would like the full 90 days
Pui *****
@Nelly ********
tourist visas grant 60 days, same as a free visa exempt entry. You only get an additional 30 days by extending it at immigration offices within Thailand, whether on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry. You are likely confusing the 90 day validity period of a tourist visa, which means you must use it within 90 days of issuance, not that it grants a 90 day stay. You only get 60 days from whenever you choose to use it for a single entry within the 90 day validity period.
Chris *******
@Nelly ********
well, you get 60 days when you arrive and then extend 1 time in country for 30 more days. That is 90 days.. No need of a tourist visa.
Dnatjugweme ************
@Nelly ********
You can get 90 days easily with a visa-exempt entry. At the moment at least. 60 days when entering + 30 days extension inside the country.
