That depends on the embassy. In The Netherlands it was 5000eur for a METV and 1000 I believe for a single entry.

Different embassies got different requirements

20,000 baht equivalent in cash on arrival is universal, but has noting to do with the visa requirements.

@Stuart ********
true, less chance of issues with dedicated visa, though obviously more hassle

I won’t repeat what already said, but an option is to head to Laos and apply a 60 tourist visa and come back. Takes a few days

I hope you don’t plan on Elite visa in the future 😉

nope, you most definitely can extend last entry as well😉 100% sure of that. Many have gotten 9 months out of METV. Just need to time last entry on the day visa expires.

single entry has absolutely max of 90 days stay. METV has the possibility for up to 9 months stay, thus the big difference.

You are reading it wrong, single entry has a absolute max of 90 days. Multiple entry one has a potential for 270 days. So it’s 90 days vs 270 days.

On a METV if you re-enter Thailand on the day the visa validity expires, you get another 60 +30 days. So basically METV has potential for 9 months.

For the extension no, visa application yes.

Strictly legally speaking your only allowed to bring a 30 day supply of prescription meds into Thailand. Personally I brought for 6 months and it went fine, but I wasn’t screened
