1) You can apply for a DTV while on a METV 2) The rules state you cannot apply for the DTV in Thai. You can try and bend the rules if you like but do not whinge if they see you were in Thailand when you applied for the DTV and refuse you the visa and make a note of it in the system 🙂 🙂 The DTV is a great visa - why play games?

Resets every time you leave and re-enter. When I was working in Bangkok I travelled frequently for business - never had to do 90 days for 3 years before Covid.

I have only done it twice. Each tome when a long term visa was cancelled so I could change to another type but needed to be in visa exempt. I hope I never need to make it a 3rd.

This! Thailand also signed the CRS (Common Reporting Standards) so now your banking details have to be shared with your country of tax residency. That is a lot of work for little gain for many banks. How are the banks supposed to know where you are tax resident" - if it was me it would be put in the "Too much hassle" box and deny bank accounts
