I believe this is just a temporary stamp they are using since they aren’t sure what is happening with visas. I had them use it once when I didn’t have my TM30 for my ED visa. Gave me this stamp and a month to bring the paperwork back, then extended me like normal. Looks like right now you are good until April 21 and then need to either leave Thailand or return to immigration. Obviously it’s looking like a lot (if not all) flights are getting cancelled so just try and keep up to date and see what immigration says over the next month.
Ah that's good to know they are acknowledging everyone, not just those on tourist visas. I have the feeling I'm gonna have to make a trek over there soon as my ED visa expires in a couple of weeks. This whole thing is such a mess. It's good to see the US embassy finally helping out.
Am I reading this right? They are helping folks with tourist visas (you know who you are), but no one with long stay visas? Seems like this only helps if you arrived in Thailand within the last 30-45 days right?
How do we go about getting these medical certificates and insurance? This is not good news for me. My ED visa is up on April 8th and I was going to use VOA for the first time ever while I wait to get my deposit back for my apartment and get my dog’s export paperwork figured out so we can go back to the US. He’s gonna be stuck here while I’m stuck in another country.
Wondering the same. My ED visa is up on April 8th and I was hoping to do a SETV or Visa Except while I try to collect my deposit back from my apartment before I head back to the US. This whole thing is scaring the shit out of me since I also have my dog here too who needs really time specific steps for export back to the US. I’m worried he’s gonna be stuck in Thailand and I’m gonna be stuck outside the country.
This is good advice. Just to add, when I replaced my passport a little over a year ago, they just punched a hole through it and sent it back with my new passport.
