Anyone done had to get a police clearance for a visa before? The Phnom Phen website simply says "Police Certificate from applicant's home country". Wondering if I do one from my state in the US (I can do that online) if that will be enough for the embassy or if they want something specific?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discusses the need for a police clearance certificate for a visa application in Thailand. One user inquires if a police certificate from their state in the US, which can be obtained online, is sufficient for the embassy. In response, other users share their experiences and suggest that a local police certificate (from a police department in Thailand) may be sufficient, emphasizing the local issuing authority's acceptance and the potential visibility of any federal records.
Just do one from local sheriff's department. Here they will not know the difference. Besides if you have a record on federal level or your passport has been flagged... that will show up when they check it here. But for the BS paperwork... Your local police will give you a report.
I've got a clean record, hahaha just don't want to wait forever to receive it. I think I'm gonna just go to the Police HQ today and take that to the embassy in Phnom Phen. At worst, they'll deny me and I'll have wasted the time in a new country. I would imagine they would take the Thai one though since I've been living here the last 9 months while going to school.
I saw that, but was hoping a local one (which can be done instantly and online) would work. I might as well just go to the Police HQ here and have one done for 100 baht then.
