yes I have been on retirement extensions for the last 3yrs renew every year with 1900baht that's why I'm curious why would one change to DTV?

when u don't have the 800k/400k in the acct it means you can't get a extension and that's about it just leave the country and no problem.....someone post that if you do apply for a extension without the 800k/400k they(the immigration can cancel your visa and charge u for overstay the moment u hit lower den 400k but the officer told him to leave and did not charge him cos he was only making equiry enquiry and did not actually apply for extensions hope this helps

yes u do earn interest twice a year....for my 800k acct the interest earned is more than enough to cover the annual fees for the debit card and insurance hope this helps

It's not that difficult u just use the swift system and transfer it to your home bank and of course u will pay some service fees to the bank and I also tried the crypto method buying some odd coins with low gas fee and send them back home I have tried in small amount by both methods and it's workable

Congrats in getting a bank acct by yourself..I will not talk about my first acct as it happens few yeas ago with a tourist visa I will share a recent experience with SCB I went in with a passport (non O extension 1yr) and my thai driving licence even I have brought along the lease agreement the counter staff doesn't even look at it as there's address on the thai driving licence easy process and they don't need anything else......as this is my third acct mainly for daily use I didn't even apply for a debit card(save on annual fees) with the SCB easy app u practically can withdraw cash and pay without a card

Go to the immigration office near you and ask for the required documents handouts it's a pretty much straightforward procedure if you already have a bank acct in thailand

It seems the dog don't have much problem and sorry to break this to u the DTV have to apply outside of thailand and not inside thailand coming into thailand as tourist is no problem but u need to bounce out to nearby countries and apply DTV there and after they approved den u can come back thailand processing time depends on different countries hope this helps

due to the recent strict rules of opening bank acct....many are advised to apply for the 90days non O in their hone country and once they get their visa they come to thailand and open bank acct and transfer funds to the thai acct for yearly extension
