TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing a non-O retirement visa in Thailand, several users suggest that doing it yourself is the most cost-effective option, costing less than 3,000 baht. For those with 800,000 baht in their Bangkok Bank account, completing the application process independently is feasible and can take about 30 minutes. Users shared experiences with various visa services; for instance, MM THAI VISA POINT in Pattaya offers renewal for around 16,000 baht. It’s encouraged to check with local Immigration Offices for specific requirements and possibly bring a Thai-speaking friend for assistance.

Why do you think you need an agent to get an extension to your Non O?

You don’t.

Just check with your local Immigration Office to confirm their requirements and follow their instructions.

Do it yourself it's not that difficult

If you have the 800k in the bank do it yourself !

The cheapest is doing it yourself. Cost you less than 3000 baht for everything. But if it's your first time doing it on your own, buckle in. You're gonna get frustrated 🤣🤣. If you have a Thai girlfriend or friend, or friend who speaks Thai. Bring them with you to translate. Saves hoirs.

Doing it yourself is the best and cheapest way. It's one a4 form with about 15 questions. Takes me about 30 minutes in Hua Hin.

great advice but did u ever think he doesn't have the funds in the bank to qualify?
Stuart ***********
What is he going to do if he has a medical emergency if he doesn't have 800k? If he has insurance he can get the non o-a visa instead. I think that's the reason the 800k rule was introduced.

@Stuart **********
He's asking about a NON-O retirement visa extension. Not a 30 day tourist visa extension.

I can read, what's your point?

MM do the 800k deposit for you, you need a phone app so they can switch money on the day.

bypassing the rules seems like a huge mistake these days with the clamp down on banking and visas, but it's up to him I guess.
