Answer summary
To obtain a Driving License in Thailand, expats need to follow specific steps and prepare necessary documents. For the Driving License, you require:
1. Your passport
2. A medical certificate (from a local clinic)
3. Your residence certificate
4. If it is your first application, you may need a home country driving license and an International Driving Permit (IDP).
You may also need to complete an online test, after which you will receive a QR code.
For the Residence Certificate, the following documents are needed:
1. A valid passport
2. A copy of the TM30 receipt from your landlord
3. A completed application form
4. Possibly, a passport-sized photo.
It's advisable to make an appointment with the Department of Land Transport (DLT) via the DLT queue app before gathering these documents, as the appointment may need to be scheduled weeks in advance. Both the Residence Certificate and Medical Certificate must be obtained within 30 days of your DLT appointment.
