Go to the sheriff office in your home county - it’s a rubber stamp if you have a clean record.

Exactly where it states: your state's FBI. So go to state police and ask.

But you are applying for the non (not none) O A, not the O.

You might be using the wrong visa maybe.

It's a Non O Visa for retirement is the one you use on the Thai E visa system

Bruce Macdonald actually they don’t really do it in the states whe I got mine. It was the state police in the state you reside in. I know it makes more sense that it would be the FBI

Jack Skinner I just went through this in the U.S. It specifically says to get an FBI Background Check. It is amazingly easy to do. It only took me two days. One day to go to the online FBI Criminal History Check page and fill out the form and pay $18. Then a trip to a local post office that does fingerprint scans (they charged $50!). The whole process is mostly automated. After the Post Office had my fingerprints the completed background check was emailed to me in a couple hours.

You are confusing two different visas

IF those requirements are coming up you selected the WRONG visa category

You selected the Non-Immigrant type OA (Long Stay) visa

If you want a Non-Immigrant type O visa you don't have those requirements
