Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate some advice regarding my marriage visa.

I renewed my Non-O Marriage Visa about a month ago, and immigration told me to come back on July 2nd to collect the stamp for the new year. Unfortunately, I missed the date and plan to go on July 7th (5 days late).

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Will there be a problem or a fine?

Do I need to restart the process, or will they just give me the stamp with a late fee?

Thanks so much in advance!

Hello,

I’m in the UK and on the thai e visa website applying for a non o marriage visa

(1) Firstly am I in the right place and can do this on the thai e visa website?

If I am then..:

In the selection of “Visa type” I selected

“Non Immigrant Visa”

Then the next section is says

Purpose of Visit

The closest I can see to marriage visa is

“To stay with Thai family residing in Thailand (more than 60 days)”

(2) Is this correct?

I notice also that they want a flight date and flight number.

I was planning on booking the flight when the visa was confirmed.

(3) do I need to have a flight booked when applying for the non o visa?

(4) Also I was wondering can I get a multi entry permit at immigration with this visa when i arrive in Thailand?

I intend to arrive August 1st for 14 days and apply for my 1 year extension then.

Then Fly back to work in the uk on August 14 and then return to Thailand on About September 28th.

And then stay till late April 2025

Thanks in Advance 🙏

Hello,

I posted another post but I think it’s pointless trying to come back to phuket to get a non o marriage visa based on my passport stamps with too many tourist entries.

I’ll probably get turned away, it’s not wort. The risk.

I’m going to apply as suggested to me to get a non o marriage visa before I leave the UK for Thailand.

My only question is the £10,000 I have to show on an official document when applying, how long does it need to be seasoned in my UK bank account?

Is it only 1 day?

Or 2 months?

I went on the royal thai embassy of London and it doesn’t say a period of time.

Just that I have to prove I have those funds in my account.

I have my money in investments and I can put the £10k into my bank account today and apply if it’s only 1 day.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Thanks group! So far you’ve been invaluable. Will post my full experience soon. But….

I’m waiting for my 90 day Non O - to - Marriage visa extension to be approved. I’ve done everything, post 45 days immigration office visit. Then, my home visit 7 days later… etc.

My decision date is mid June. .. but, my mother is very unwell, she has dementia, sadly. So I need to fly back to the U.K for 5 nights next week. I’ll buy the re-entry permit that I’m required to of course, and I’ll be be back in Thailand at least 10 days before my immigration appointment for my marriage extension conclusion.

Is this ok?

Any advice will be very much appreciated.

Hello everyone!

I just arrived here on May 17 from the US after applying for and receiving a Non-O Marriage visa in April on the advice on Brandon Thurkettle. Thanks again Brandon! Unfortunately immigration informed me yesterday that I made a mistake by not having our US marriage license stamped at The Embassy in Los Angeles. So………it looks like we will have to go to Cambodia and apply for the Non-O retirement visa. Then wait 7-10 days to get it emailed back and start over. My question is this; is there a way around having to do that or should I just resign myself to some time in Cambodia? I have heard the agents can work around it but I also hear they do some things that the Thai government might not approve of. Or that are outright illegal. So I don’t really want to use them.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have been living in Thailand on a NON-O marriage visa, that expired when I returned to UK for a 3 week holiday with my thai wife. I didn't renew Non-O as I didn't have 400k baht in thai bank account at that time. What are the chances of me having problems entering BKK with a visa exempt on my return?

I just got my email from The Thai embassy in Los Angeles and I have been approved for my Non-O marriage visa! I want to thank everyone on this page who helped me with a huge shout out to Brandon Thurkettle! Every single thing he said here has proven to be totally accurate. He was the one who first told me the Non-O marriage would best suit me. So it’s a huge relief to have that out of the way, now we are on the clock. We will be in Thailand by the end of May at the latest and then it’s time to stress out over building our new house! 😎🤪😎🙏🙏🙏🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭. Thanks again everyone and maybe we will bump into you at The Monkey Bar in Korat. Brandon I will definitely buy you some drinks!

I wanted to say it’s amazing how much conflicting information you can get regarding all the different visa options for entering/retiring to Thailand. I saw someone say if you talk to 10 different agents/experts you will get 10 different results and that appears to be true. So after much reading and deliberation and asking questions here I believe I have finally arrived at the best option; GET DRUNK! No just kidding.

My best bet appears to be the Non-O marriage visa as I am married to a Thai woman. It requires the fewest hoops to jump through and has the smallest amount of required money I need to keep in a Thai bank, etc. I am still not 100% sure if I have to apply online here in The US, or if I can come to Thailand and then apply for the visa, but I am going to go with what Brandon Thurkettle has told me because he seems to be extremely knowledgeable on the subject; I will do the application here and then get the bank account after arriving there and do whatever else I have to to secure our retirement in my adopted country.

Thanks again for all the help and I hope to run into some of you Farangs when we get there in the next couple months. Peace from Seattle, Washington, USA.
