Just after a bit advice to try and unfreeze my BB account

I’m 52 from the UK married to a Thai national for 20 years with 2 adult children with dual passports

We are travelling to Thailand in July for the summer and I need to unfreeze my BB account and from what I hear I’m wasting my time if I enter on 60 day visa waver so looking at applying for a visa that could help me achieve this

Maybe a non-O marriage visa ?

I’ve got the 400k in the bank or the 40k per month income so shouldn’t have any problems there

But online it says I need a copy of our marriage certificate which I have but also need the house registration but ours is at our house in Surin

Has anyone recently obtained the non-O who doesn’t have a house registration?

We aren’t intending to move to Thailand until 2028 but I could really do with unfreezing my bank account this year if possible

Has anyone else been able to unfreeze their account any other way or with another type of visa?
Answer summary
An expat from the UK seeks advice on unfreezing their Bangkok Bank account, which is currently frozen. They are married to a Thai national and are considering applying for a NON-O marriage visa to facilitate this process. The expat has funds available and is confused about the requirements, particularly regarding the need for a house registration. Community members weigh in with their experiences, confirming that a marriage certificate is typically sufficient, while others suggest different banking options and the importance of obtaining the visa before arrival in Thailand.

The B Bank keeps moving the goal post: initially was the correct visa and registered mobile number. Supplied and then suddenly was also the yellow book….

With your BB account frozen you should get your non-o before you come you’ll need the visa for the bank

The money is only important to extend your visa, i think getting the non-O would be the biggest benefit. Is there a balance in the account? If nothing then it maybe worth walking away and going to kasikorn as they have been a lot more welcoming and helpful since all this banking fiasco kicked off.

90 day Thai E visa (non o)

The marriage certificate should be all that's required, no need for the housebook or your wife's Thai ID. I take it you didn't bother to look at the requirements posted by the Thai consulate in London which is where you will apply?

A lot of people have changed over to the Kasikorn bank ,They don't trust the Bangkok bank anymore

Simon Adams nobody trust that bank. They don't follow international standards. They think they work for immigration. Fuck them. They have lost so many customers and they don't care. Sadly farangs have money versus average Thai. Smart banks understand that. Bank is useless if yout customers have no money. I went to kbank anxnhad account open in 5 minutes. She saw my monthly income and looked at my wife and said his do I find a farang 555

Just get the 90-day non-O from your home country. Come in on that. Ensure passport and phone number are linked to your account and it will be unfrozen

If you have 800k to show just apply for non o retirement 90 days. Less paperwork to show.

If you've had your account for more than three years you won't have any problems. Just show the receipt you get from your Thai cellphone provider that your passport matches your cellphone number registered with your Thai bank account. I've had my three accounts for over 14 years, and had to do this.

Show them your marriage certificate. If it’s a Thai one get both the คร.2 and คร.3

One of the acceptable reasons (with Bangkok Bank) for having an account is marriage to a Thai citizen.

I almost had my account closed in January but because I had my marriage certificates they kept it open. Had to sign a few bits of paper but it’s all sorted now

By the way, I was on a 60 day visa exempt entry stamp and have never had a long term visa. Account has been active for 12 years.

Biff Jones I suggest to get a clear letter from the bank explaining what the actual problem is. And then let it translated by a qualified translator (no pun to your wife, perhaps she is perfectly well able to translate it - however in my experience my GF(s) never were able to explain anything "correctly", I got lots of trouble because of unintentional unclear translations).

There must be a reason, which most likely has nothing to do with marriage or any visa.
