Going to be applying for my DTV in Laos at Vientiane in May so planning ahead now so we can book travel and hotels.

I'm on a New Zealand passport ( Citizen). Currently in Bkk till Saturday on 60 day exemption. Was here 6 months last year ( April - Sept 2024) on METV and have had 2 other entry for one week before METV in february 24 and Nov 24 for two weeks. I will be back late march until i go to laos for DTV before 60 days again is up. This years entry Dec 30 till Feb 1st 25 , I was asked if i have someone here and i said yes my Gf.

questions.

1. I will apply as soon as i arrive in Vientiane and i understand the 10k B fee in cash has to be paid directly. Does this need an appointment or is this a walk in.

2. As far as accommodation proof, is it ok to show several areas of hotel bookings or does it all need to be in the one place I apply. EG i am thinking of going to LP and VV after paying the fee.

3. Will getting a Laos visa before i travel be problematic as opposed to getting one on arrival at the border.

4. Is an appointment always scheduled or is it completely online only of all my docs are good.

5. If anyone here has applied via E visa this year what on average has been your application approval time.

Lastly if anyone has any hotel recommendations whilst waiting would appreciate some, seems to be a varying standard in laos. prefer midrange.

Thank you in advance

Hi team, dual passport holder here thinking of applying via Vietnam. If my Vietnam entry stamp is in my Russian passport, will I be able to get a DTV in my New Zealand passport?

Recently had my DTV Approved at Thai Consulate Ho Chi Minh City.

New Zealand Passport

Bank statement was just a printout of my online banking.

The proof of funds money was deposited just a few days before applying.

I also got my dad to write a letter saying that he was willing and able to to support me if I ran out of money. But no screenshots of his bank or anything like that.

I included a copy of my work contract which was from a US company. It was not verified by embassy as some places suggest is required.

Proof of address was just a reservation printout from the hotel I was staying in Vietnam.

Overall it was a far smoother process than I had been led to believe. No documents needed verified from respective embassies, and no issues applying from Vietnam as a New Zealand Citizen on a tourist visa.

Staff were friendly and did a quick check over all my documents before taking my money ($340 USD, no bent or folded notes).

My application was processed in 2 days.

Can't guarantee your experience will be the same, but overall I highly recommend Ho Chi Minh City if you are currently in Thailand and looking to do a visa run somewhere to apply for DTV.

My experience went far smoother than I had anticipated.

Hi, I have a question:

We are going to Thailand at the beggining of the year.

My husband is a kiwi (new zealand passport) And we want to stay 59 days. We do not have his single tourist visa extension.

Can he make his visa once we arrive in Thailand?

I will appreciate some advice.

Hi just wanting some advice and help with visas please. We are travelling to Thailand for 20 days next year from New Zealand, I have a UK passport and my partner has a New Zealand passport. Do we need a visa? If so what type? My partner is also having a medical procedure, does this change anything?

I am going to Thailand on 1st June, already booked a trip to vietnam 1st july So i am assuming that is OK, my flight back into thailand from Vietnam is 15th July but that is it. At this stage I have no other exit flights booked , i want to do a border land crossing as I am staying in chae hom before my next 30 days expires.

My question is do I need a flight out of thailand booked before I can come back in to Thailand from Vietnam ? New Zealand Passport .

Many thanks in advance for what must be repetitive questions. Just a bit confused about my options for a New Zealand passport. Can I get a 60 day VOA then extend for 30 days more? I currently have return flights booked for a 5 month period and I'm hoping to stay most of that time if possible, with a visa run. Should I book a cheap flight out to another country for within 60 days of first arrival, then cancel if I get an extension? Thanks again.

Hi all, I am in Vietnam and need to get my Thailand Visa before my November 26th flight. How many days before the 26th should I get to Hanoi? I have New Zealand passport.

I have a doctor appointment on Da Nang on the 22nd November which is vital.

Could I just do a VOA in Thailand?

Any advice welcome.

Hi

I applied and paid for TR visa in my home country and expected/hoped to be stamped in for 60 days. However I only received 30 days on arrival in Bangkok. I am now in Chiang Mai. Where do I go to extend and is the cost still 1,900 although I have TR? Travelling on NZ passport.

Thank you

Has anyone on here who came in on Visa Exempt, and now on amnesty, applied for a 30 day extension after 26 Sept using their Embassy letter? And been granted?

FYI - I arrived 1st March on NZ passport. My letter was dated 12th July, but needs to be updated which I know. My question was for anyone who has been granted extension with a letter dated post-23rd July. Thanks
