I am traveling to Thailand for 29 day. I am from nz. I have read i dont need a visa, jjust wanted to check this correct?
Answer summary
New Zealand passport holders are exempt from needing a visa for stays up to 30 days in Thailand. It is also necessary to fill out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) prior to arrival. Travelers must ensure they have sufficient cash (20,000 THB) and a departure ticket dated within 30 days.

As others said, it's correct but to be honest if you are worried if your information is correct why you don't look at the Thai embassies website which is responsible for NZ or other official sources. Relying on information from a Facebook group especially with regard to immigration rules can be risky.

Correct, Kiwi's are visa exempt up to 30 days, you will need to do tdac form (Thailand digital arrival card) from 3 days before you arrive in Thailand, it's free, so don't get caught in sites that charge for it, they are scammers. You will also need equivalent of
*****
thb in cash on you as well

Kiwi here. Just get on the plane and they'll stamp you in when you arrive. Just make sure you complete the Thai digital arrival card before you arrive.

thai baht equivalent in cash, just in case they ask to see it when you clear immigration.

Better bringing cash in your own currency anyway as the exchange rate here in Thailand is so much better, just make sure they are crisp clean unmarked bank notes

Just fill in the digital arrival card online 3 days before you fly
Greg ***********
Greg ***********
Duncan Ross SORRY but you are WRONG. . . . the TDAC can only be filled out up from 3 days/72 hours before your ARRIVAL in Thailand, NOT before you fly
Duncan ******
Duncan ******
Greg Alexander Well you are not going to fill it out on the plane so 3 days before you fly is good enough to help someone
Ken **********

Duncan Ross maybe they are not flying direct, so 72 hours before thailand is correct.

With NZ passport you get 30 days visa exemption on entry.

Need to have ticket out of Thailand dated within the 30 days and the equivalent of 20,000 baht in cash.

ok Mr clever dick, I have been to Thailand many many times and have only been asked what I intended to do after my 2nd 30 day exemption once, so although the Thai embassy says what it says in practice immigration very rarely asks, as they say in Thailand, T I T...

Peter Feringa Well mr smart arse, just because it hasn’t happened to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

Find some documentation (as I did) that supports your stance.

Greg ***********
Ralph Tyson SORRY but your advice is partially wrong. That ticket out of Thailand within 30 days would rather be asked for by the airline. Thai Immigration doesn't care about your onward travel, they know that you can extend by 30 days
Ralph *******
Ralph *******
Greg Alexander It’s a requirement. Just because they rarely ask does not mean it’s not needed. Why would the airline care if it wasn’t an immigration requirement?
Ralph *******
Ralph *******
Peter Feringa Here is an extract from an email I received from the Thai embassy in Wellington: “to enter Thailand by Airs and stay less than 30 days, you may enter Thailand under Visa exemption (30 days each entry without visa) returning ticket departing Thailand within 30 days is required (can be bus, train. Boat, flights etc.)”

Ok?

Peter Feringa Only if they failed to check your onward travel.

because the airline is responsible and if there's an issue then they are the ones who have to get you home... 🙄

30 day visitor Visa upon arrival. You're good. Recently back to 30 days from 69 days prior.

Glenn Sheargold typo, it went to 30 from 60 days, not from 69 days

Glenn Sheargold there's no 30 day visitor visa on arrival. There's a 30 day entry with NO visa, called visa exempt.

Ken Williams yes its been easy in the past but thai immigration have new information systems that are linked together. First 7 months this year they stopped just under 30,000 people entering Thailand. I can find and post the article if you need

Phil Beer 5 things?. . . . It's still the THREE famous proofs: Cash, Accomodation and Onward Travel. PLUS of course your passport. The fifth thing that was added is the completed TDAC . . . . . Thai Immigration doesn't care about your onward travel, it rather is the AIRLINE who might want to see that you have a ticket out of Thailand within the first 30 days

Greg Alexander yep thats all

Louise Mary-Jane yes, within 72 hours of arrival you have to fill out an online mini visa type thing. It's free and simple, just asking for basic information like passport number and stuff. It's the digital equivalent of the paper arrivals card you used to fill out. Most countries have them now in one form or another. Go on the official Thai website. If you Google it sponsored sites often come up asking for a fee. You do not pay for it. Happy travels.
