If I am traveling from Australia to Thailand what visa do I need?
I will be in Thailand no longer than 30 days but will need to enter atleast twice about a month apart.
I’m aware of TDAC but some website says you don’t need a visa for less than 30 days coming from Australia as a tourist, others say you do 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Any help is appreciated!
Answer summary
Travelers from Australia can enter Thailand for up to 60 days without a visa under the visa exemption scheme. However, for multiple entries within a short period, such as returning after a month, it's advisable to apply for the Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV), which allows unlimited entries within a 6-month period. Additionally, the Thai Declaration and Arrival Card (TDAC) must be completed within 3 days before each entry into Thailand.

Aussies still can get a visa excemption stamp valid for 60 day's (still at this stage) can I ask how many times visiting Thailand this year? You could apply for a METV. This visa allows you to enter Thsiland within a 6 month period multiple times for each stay up to 60 days with the opportunity to apply for a additional 30 days.
James Mcauley I would be getting a METV then, no problems. Coming here then leaving 3 days later then back to Thailand if you were immigration.what would be your thoughts about a tourist.
If you have an Australian passport you can currently enter for 60 days using the Visa exemption scheme so no visa is required but because your wanting to leave and return multiple times in the same year it's probably wise to apply for The Thailand Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) is valid for 6 months from the date of issue and allows unlimited entries. Each stay is capped at 60 days, though it can be extended once for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office.
James Mcauley As long as your travel history in and out of Thailand doesn't look suspicious you'll probably be okay, but as always the final decision will be made by what Immigration officer you get during entry.
