Hello, I've read that i need to do a cancellation of my edu visa or else I'll be fined for overstaying.
The issue here is that I have been chasing and chasing the school for a termination letter and they said they're waiting for the owner to sign the documents. He's rumoured to be on holiday in Germany???
I kept reminding them a month prior to do up the documents and they are not giving me a clear response that they will be helpful.
I should be leaving on 28 December but I'm afraid I will not get the school to give me my documents in time.
What will happen if I just leave before my extension of stay date? I will most likely not be applying for any more long term stay visas in the foreseeable future.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the cancellation of their education visa (ED visa) as it appears they might leave Thailand before receiving the necessary termination letter from their school. Despite repeated requests, the school has not provided a clear timeline for the documents due to the owner's absence. Community responses suggest that leaving the country without formally cancelling the visa may not create immediate issues at the time of departure, but it could result in complications if the user attempts to apply for a new visa or extension within Thailand later on. It is advised to press the school for a document or find someone qualified to sign in the owner's absence.
