Hey, will entering Thailand by bus with a newly approved DTV visa (no stamp yet) pass immigration? Has anyone experienced this? If so, which land border was it through? Thanks.

Possible you already got dtv visa during stay inside Thailand ( common case nowodays )

Yes you can do border run with border run company, but you already at the risk zone, for next 5 years any immigration very easy can check you break rules so simply be ready for dealing everytime when you gonna see immigration, but not always this can working so you can end up with trouble some day.

Which BORDER crossing will you be using?

Are you doing a BORDER BOUNCE by yourself? Trying to do a same day return?

Where are you living in Thailand?

Is this your first entry into Thailand with a NEW DTV visa?

tell whatever ai software wrote that comment, that you cannot apply for a dtv from inside thailand and nor can you do a "border bounce".

you can do a BORDER BOUNCE with your DTV visa to get a new 180 day stamp on returning to Thailand.

AND you cannot legally apply for the DTV visa while you are in Thailand.

Suvarnabhumi should be fine. I always bring 20,000THB along with all my documents just in case I'm pulled over, but haven't been pulled over yet. I have 3 entries and will get my 4th later in September

Anonymous participant 954 Suvarnabhumi is an airport not a land border crossing 🙈

Once again, you are very confused between non existent ongoing DTV requirements and the normal questions that immigration can ask of any arrival, whatever their visa type (or even visa exempt). They typically do this by asking for completion of a Passenger Statement Form which requests financial information; 1) Cash, 2) Bank balance 3) Other. This form also asks for 'Purpose of visit'.

Maybe not on this particular burner profile.

Whatever will your next question be? Possibly; 'Has anyone ever made a successful border bounce? Which border did you use? Thanks'.

no, you don’t have to keep 500k at all times, only when entering the country. You can spend the whole 500k during your stay in Thailand but when you enter again or when you make an extension you will need to have it again. Did you ever wonder why are they asking again for the 500k when you are making an extension instead of doing a visa run? I tell you why: because you need the 500k to support yourself during the next 180 days. It’s all perfectly logical and anyone with common sense understands this.

@Thomas ******
and why do you think the 500k it’s required when you apply? So after your understanding and common sense, you need money to apply for the visa but when you enter the country you don’t need money anymore? Does this make sense to you? Can you support yourself for 180 days from 20.000 baht?

FEARMONGERING? Not at all, just facts. All the application requirements can be checked anytime at entry. You know it and it also happened

500k is not a visa requirement it’s only for apply. There is no official rule stating that you must keep 500,000 THB in your bank account at all times or systematically present a bank statement every time you enter Thailand.
Za *******
Za *******
CleverRadish5177 it is a visa requirement and can be asked by the IO at any time since 20.000 baht in cash is by far not enough to support yourself for a 180 days entry. And if your DTV is based on Soft Power a proof of an ongoing course is also recommended
