What should I expect during the immigration process when arriving in Thailand on a DTV visa?

If one has a visa approved in their home country by the Embassy, I would state diplomatically to the IO all the checks and balances have been done.

You left out a very important part of the ending of your story. Did the Australian guy that got denied entry have a DTV Visa??

People go thru secondary inspections all the time, just like you did. He didn't get deported, he got denied entry. And you don't know the reason for the denial.

BJ Gall He didn't get deported :/ He got denied entry..

To be deported you already have to be stamped IN to thailand. All that happened to the guy that sat next to you was he got denied entry and had to buy a ticket to fly back out. Usually they let you go back to the country you just transited thru BUT if he flew straight from Oz to here he'd go back there..

It didn't invalidate his visa, he didn't get banned, it just meant on this try he couldn't get in.

People get denied entry all the time for various reasons..

Remember holding a valid visa to thailand doesn't guarantee you get IN to the country, all it means is IF they let you in you get stamped in for the days the visa allows..

Always Phuket or Chiang Mai that supplies this form to fill in.

Also was the justification for your DTV just a statement or you had to show documents ?

What did they deport him for if he has already received the DTV?

It was your first or second arrival on DTV?

Generally it sounds like big problem if someone have rented condominium for year, all stuff there and trying get back to Thailand and hear "no"
