Does anyone know if the immigration require cash on entry from visa exemption tourist or it is depends on officer. Thanks
Answer summary
When entering Thailand on a visa exemption, tourists may be required to show proof of funds, which typically means having at least 20,000 Thai Baht (or equivalent) in cash. While it is not common for immigration officers to ask for this proof, there have been instances where tourists were denied entry for not having the funds available. Bank statements or ATM withdrawals are not accepted, and having cash on hand is highly recommended to avoid potential issues at immigration.

The 20,000 baht proof of funds rule isn’t new , implemented over 20 yrs ago
There are many tourists that have been denied entry because they didn't have the 20,000B in cash so not worth the risk .Also bank account statements are not acceptable and you can't use an ATM to withdraw money as there aren't any before immigration.
thanks. Last year Etihad did not allowed me to fly to Thailand from Manchester because i did not have return ticket. Had to biy one quickly on airport.
