TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has applied for a 3-month Non-O retirement visa four weeks ago but has not yet received it, with their exemption visa expiring the next day. The community advises contacting the immigration office for clarification and possibly asking for an extension or border bounce to avoid overstaying. Comments suggest that if the application is being processed and the fee has been paid, there should be no concern about overstaying. The user was reassured that they could receive their visa on the expiry date, and ultimately, they later confirmed that they successfully obtained their visa.

I was previously told if immigration has got your passport, and they have accepted your visa application as being complete, and it's just in the pile waiting to be processed, don't worry about overstay, I've had it happen to me, where the passport is only returned on the date of expiry, it can be a worry when you don't know what is going on, let us know how you get on. 🤔

I will go visit my beloved immigration office tomorrow (....)

If they have excepted your application and you have paid the fee , I don't think you need to worry. Why don't you ask the immigration office for peace of mind. 🙏

did you check your passport for the small note, telling you that your application is "15 days under consideration" and that you have to visit Immigration again on the 15th day to pick up the 90-days visa stamp?

if you already applied for the "change of visa type" from the exempt entry to the 90-days Non-imm-o visa, and paid 2000.- THB fee, you have been issued a "15-days under consideration", it either is a stamp or a notice on a piece of paper. It must have been inside your passport, maybe you lost it

15 days under consideration 4 weeks ago ????!!!!! Not very logical !!!

It would be worth contacting the immigration office and asking them but other than that you don't need to worry. You can't go on overstay while waiting for the non-o to be approved.

if he leaves the country he'd have to start over from scratch again. No need to worry about an extension either as he can't go on overstay while waiting

don t need an overstay stamp in my passport

@Richard *******
you won't get one. You can't be on overstay if you've applied for a visa and are in the under consideration period.

You’ll need to go and ask them and ask for a 7 days extension denied stamp on your current exemption/extension in the first place and maybe do a border bounce. But they have to advise you, 15-21 days should normally be sufficient for a Non O in country.
