Any feedback from just using the Thai e-visa website for applying for the DTV? I do not plan on going to Washington or LA to visit at Embassy.
If I skipped the DTV for now and just use the 60 day exemption with the intent of extending it the 30 days allowed, do people go ahead and book their plane tickets for the 90 days? Does that cause any problems anywhere? (Airline letting you on, Thai immigration, etc) Do people just buy 60 day tickets and then deal with changing the return flight once approved for the 30 day extension?
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the process of applying for the Thai Digital Visa (DTV) through the e-visa website without visiting an embassy. Users confirm that online applications are possible. Additionally, it addresses the concerns of booking flights for 90 days while only initially securing a 60-day exemption, questioning potential problems with airlines or immigration upon arrival in Thailand.

Alabama. Thank you for the clarification regarding no in person visits. I haven’t seen much feedback though about success rates from the USA. Most posts are regarding other SEA countries.
And any thoughts on my 60–90 day exemption airline ticket?
Anonymous participant the USA Thai Embassy and Consulates are friendly to granting the DTV visa...as well as other Thai Visas. SUGGEST you apply for the DTV visa in the USA... Stay in the USA until the decision is known.
Required Documents for a DTV: Thai soft power related activities e.g. Muaythai, Thai culinary training and medical treatment
Passport Biodata Page or Travel Document (Must be valid within 6 months from travel date)
Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months
Document indicating current location (driving license, bank statement, or proof of stay)
A copy of a recent saving or checking bank statement for the last three months with an ending balance of no less than 500,000 THB or ($16,000 USD) that shows the applicant's name and date. In case of submitting a family bank statement, proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided. / sponsorship letter
Letter of acceptance from institute or company organizing activities, letter of appointment from hospital/medical center
there's NO in person visits with the Thai Embassy or Consulate in the USA 🇺🇸. That ended when the Thai Evisa online application system took effect a year ago. The ONLY time you might have to visit the Thai Embassy or Consulate is... IF you are invited for a personal interview. However we have not seen that happening in the USA. It does happen in other countries, especially in SE Asia.
