Has anyone applied for a DTV spouse visa with a Thai marriage certificate? If so, was it approved?
My partner and I are both from Europe, and are thinking of getting married here in Thailand (I’m here on a DTV, they are on a tourist visa). Then go out of the country to apply for my partner’s DTV as my spouse. Just wondering if a Thai marriage certificate would suffice.
I recently got my DTV visa after 10 working days (Vietnamese national) and applied for my spouse (British national) straight after.
He submitted his application on Sep 18 and got the visa in 5 working days. I don't think dependent visas necessarily take longer. In my case, it probably depended on the nationalities 😅.
The visa was issued today - on a Sunday so it's definitive that the embassy does work on weekends.
I used the same account on Thaievisa website for both our applications. No need to create a separate account for the dependents if you can't be bothered.
I won't go into details unless s/o asks more specific questions. Just wanna clarify some stuff I personally wondered.
Please stop spreading news that Hanoi is getting more difficult, and you don't need an agency doing it for you either. Just research, be well prepared, and you'll get it! Good luck everyone 😁
I have A DTV Visa. I intend to stay in Thailand approx 123 days.
I have an elderly mother who is 80 years old and relies on me as her carer.
I understand the spouse Visa is for a wife and Children under 20.
1 - Will they make any exception to allow me to sponsor a Elderly dependant parent if paperwork (Medical - birth certificate etc) is provided to show the dependancy.
2 - If this is not possible, and we apply for her own Soft Power DTV Visa, can anyone recommend a Thai cooking class Close to Pattaya who we can book with, Ideally a company that can provide the relevant paperwork for the Visa Application.
Any help would be appreciated, I just want to decide which is the best route to go down.
I’m applying for a Thai Non-Immigrant O (Spouse) Visa for the first time through the Embassy in Canberra, and I’d really appreciate some advice from anyone who has gone through it recently.
From what I’ve read, the main requirements are:
• Marriage certificate + spouse’s Thai ID & house registration
• Invitation letter from spouse
• Bank statement showing at least 20,000 THB (individual) or 40,000 THB (family)
• Proof of residence in Australia
• Proof of accommodation in Thailand
• Flight itinerary
My question is: did the Embassy ask you for anything extra beyond this list (like proof of income, wedding photos, extra financials, etc.)? And was an invitation letter in English enough, or did you also provide one in Thai?
Any tips or clarifications would be a huge help since this is my first time applying 🙏
I am preparing to apply for my non immigrant-o visa (spouse) in Bangkok. I have deposited 384k from abroad and had the rest in earnings in my account already. I am reading mixed information about the importance of the source of the funds.
Will it be an issue if the fund are not all from abroad?
Tia
If anyone have a list of every piece of evidence I need to get the non-o in Bangkok that would be greatly appreciated.
Hey gang, I'd been planning to apply for my DTV in Indonesia, but not sure if I should go to Vietnam instead with what seems to be happening in Indo right now with protests/floods/etc?
For context, my husband was approved for the DTV in Australia, but we didn't have time for me to then apply as a dependent/spouse, as the approval came through the day before we left the country.
We each have the 500k baht (mine has only been in the account for 2 months, but was close to the full amount for a long while before that).
My question is, is it better to apply as a spouse from Vietnam or Indonesia, and is the Indo process affected by the current situation over there?
We submitted a DTV application for my partner in Jakarta 10 days ago, but we haven’t received any update yet. Since I need to apply after her and we are planning to travel to Thailand within a week. Is there anything we can do to speed up the process?
New to this group and this whole visa process😂 quick question however!
Im about to apply for a DTV (Muay Thai) visa for myself, and sponsor my wife on a spouse option. Im just wondering, I have a personal bank account under my name exceeding way over 1 million baht, however, my wife’s personal account shows less than 500K baht, as we both only use ‘my’ account for all our expenses.
When applying for her visa, will we need to deposit xx amount into her personal bank account to reach the 500K minimum? Or will the bank account under my name only be sufficient, exceeding the 1 million baht?
I emailed the embassy, but no response, so just trying my luck here.
