What is the typical approval time for Thai visa applications from Dubai?
Dubai/UAE residents who applied recently: how long did approval take from submission?
I got my soft power DTV back in July in about 10 working days after some back and forth about bank statements.
My partner is applying now as my spouse and we've had no movement on the application despite submitting on Monday last week (so 6 working days).

Sawadee, congrats on your soft power in July, ten working days with bank check is normal for Dubai. For spouse dependent from Dubai, embassy is slow now, six working days with no movement is still normal. Most spouse cases from UAE take ten to twenty working days.
Since you already have DTV, make sure you uploaded your visa, passport, marriage certificate attested and your bank proof again. Dubai sometimes asks for MOFA attestation for marriage so keep that ready.
You could consider reading a book or two before your trip. I’d recommend Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it includes all the info and insights you need. You should check it out. A very good companion 👌.

12th Oct: Applied late Monday
19th Oct: No movement by following Monday so sent an email chasing. 30 minutes later got a request for more documents (NOC and marriage certificate. Wrote the NOC and resent the same marriage certificate as we sent with the application)
21 Oct: no change from 'pending document check' so emailed again at 10am. At noon changed to pending approval and then visa issued at 5:45pm
12th Oct: Applied late Monday

no flight tickets. Ive been in and out of thailand on DTV 5 times and partner has now been in once and never had to show onward flights.We have a 1 year condo lease but never had to show it either.
If we needed to show something I would just book fully refundable to show them.

Every embassy is different read the Embassy website of the Embassy you applied at.
It is very precise:
“Processing Time:
- E-visa processing might take up to 5-20 days from the date of completed submission and payment.
- The Royal Thai Consulate-General highly recommends applicants planning your trip in advance at least 20-30 days before departure.
- Please note that there is no express visa service.
- Please note that the consulate will be closed on official Thai and U.A.E. public holidays”
Only workdays count, and a request for additional documents reset the count to 0 on the day documents are submitted.
