Not exactly a Visa question but something Visa related folks may have run into. I need to get a significant number of fingerprints done. (16 total). I had 2 sets done at the Police clearing center, but they seemed unhappy about the idea of doing the remainder I needed. I really do need to get them done sooner than trying to go for two months in a row weekly or something. Are there any private places? Or places in nearby countries anyone could suggest

Hello.

I have been a regular visitor to Thailand for many years and now is the time to stay permanently.

I will be applying for a 90 day non immigrant visa online here in the UK and then after depositing the necessary funds in a Thai bank account will wait the 60 days before heading to my local immigration office in Bueng Gan to apply for a retirement visa. On the official Thai embassy website it says that if I apply to retire in the UK I must provide a medical certificate and police clearance. But if applying in Thailand it says that these "may be requested ". My question is, will I definitely need these certificates? Or is it a case of some immigration offices or officers being more or less stringent. I do want to be prepared especially as I am selling up and leaving sunny Devon forever.

I look forward to any advice 👍

Hey this year I am doing my marriage extension on my Non-O, I am Iranian I read on the website some countries require background clearance from police before doing extension, we did this last year I thought it's only once and now we moved to Bangkok, is that normal and what docs i need to take to police? I found this using ChatGPT:

* Valid Passport

– Original + photocopy of the information page and latest visa page.

* Thai Visa

– Current visa stamp in passport (copy the page).

* Letter from Embassy or Immigration

– A letter requesting a police clearance (e.g., for visa extension or background check).

* Work Permit (if applicable)

– If employed in Thailand, bring a copy of your work permit.

* Marriage Certificate (if applying under marriage visa)

– Original + copy (translated into Thai or English and certified if not in either).

* Spouse's Thai ID Card and House Registration (if applicable)

– If you are married to a Thai citizen.

* Photos

– Two (2) passport-sized photos (1 inch or 2 inches accepted).

* Fingerprint Card (optional if applying in person)

– Can be taken at the Police Clearance Center directly.

* Fee

– 100 THB for the certificate (standard processing in 15 working days).

Please help me out here, Thanks in advance from Tod Daniels that helped me alot in DMs.

Hi guys I’m a university student and on an Ed visa, also due for a visa extension at the end of next month. My university has told me that now people from countries who require police clearances for extensions have to do police clearance every 3 months and they are not valid for 1yr anymore. Anyone else heard of this? TIA

Hello 🙂 back in April, I did the Police Clearance process in the Forensics Centre in Chiang Mai, with a letter from my school.

The Teaching Council in Ireland has rejected the document on the basis that they believe it it a third party agency that completed the process, and that the document was not processed in the Special Bureau in Bangkok. It doesn’t look like the attached image, it is just the document with the fingerprints stamped and signed saying that I have no criminal offences.

I’ve been trying to contact the police clearance centre to verify the validity, but their email does not exist and keeps bouncing back as invalid. The number provided also can’t be contacted outside Thailand.

Can anyone advise or provide a valid email for the police clearance centre?

Thanks!
