Applying for dependent visas in Australia next month for an adult and child. Have received the AFP police clearance for the adult but it requires one to be uploaded for the child too. She is 10 years old, do we actually need to request one for the child? 

What has has everyone else done for this section? 

The primary dtv was approved a year ago when it wasnt required. 

Does the primary holder need to request one and upload it for the child's application?

For dependants, treat adult and child as separate document stacks. AFP / police clearance often kicks in by age threshold — many embassies want it for adults and teens, while a 10-year-old may be exempt or need a different certificate. Confirm Australia → destination embassy’s published dependant list for that age before you pay for AFP you don’t need (or skip one they do). Mismatched files slow family DTV more than the principal visa itself.

Hi, no kids under 14 need any police checks. I checked with the AFP by phoning them and I asked the culinary cooking class in Thailand.

But it says you must have 1 million Baht to show you can provide for your child. Around $42,000 AUD

Does it have to be AFP Cert or Sate Cert suffice, State cert also covers all jurisdictions of Australia.

For kids under 16 you upload the primary parents police certificate. The adult will need their own.
