Hello group. I need to extend my retirement visa in Phuket. What's the deal with making a small bank deposit the day of your application? Must it be the very same day you apply? Or is it the day before? Please clue me in about this requirement.

And, has anything else changed recently? Thank you!
Answer summary
To extend your retirement visa (NON-O Visa) in Phuket, it is necessary to update your bank passbook on the same day you apply for the extension. Most people make a small deposit (e.g., 100 baht) the day of the application to trigger this update. Some users note that you can prepare by getting a bank letter and account statement a few days prior, but the passbook must reflect a transaction on the day of the application. It's advised to check for any recent changes in immigration rules, as practices may differ across offices.

I do need to update my address. Do I need to make a separate trip for that? The last time I was in Room 101 for a 90 day report, the IO said he could not update my address. So, I am confused about this issue. Does the drive through still exist? It was closed when I went last time. Thanks!

Does Phuket require you update your bank passbook the day you apply for the extension or can it be done a day early?

@Marcel ********
you are confused... :O

You are NOT talking about any immigration office policy and instead you are referring to Bangkok Bank and their policy of freezing the funds for some people for 4 months in order to give the paperwork you need for your extension

That has abso-tively, posi-lutely nothing to do with thai immigrations :/

The seasoning requirements for banked money method for a retirement extension are this

well seems different, here in Chaiyaphum is it like that from immigration Rules, don't matter what Banc. you need to have the money at least 3 to four months before.

I personally do not make a deposit the day I apply matter fact I don’t hardly ever make a deposit into that account that always stays the same but at the same time I get all the necessary documents from my bank and they update the bank book I don’t do it at the machine

@David ******
has a really the only time they don't make you update the past book as if you have a fixed account because it only shows interest deposits.

Oh, that’s one detail I forgot. yes that is a fixed account.

@David ******
and that's why you don't get hammered at the immigration office for updated bank book the day you get your extension :) ;P

firstly its the 12-month extension to the NON O Visa based on retirement.

Go to Immigration and ask for the requirements to extend as some offices different

At most banks to get the bank book update machine to print the balance of the account (which you have to do on the day you apply for the extension) you need to have a transaction that day..

Most people just put 100baht into the account, then update the bank passbook and it will show the balance of the account on the day you apply :)

As far as if there are any changes, post on a Phuket group and ask,

This is the link to the Phuket Immigration volunteer website with the retirement requirements (but I don't know if it's still accurate or not)

You wanna read where it says "One Year Extension Requirements"

OK, I will try to do it all in one day I guess. Thanks. I will also do a transaction a day before in case of TIT.

just go get the bank letter and the statement a few days before then the day you're getting your extension put 100 baht into the account and find a passbook update machine (usually in front of banks) and update the book that day
