Got my DTV today via London. Thought I would share details.

Applied online on Monday at 18.19 with

Passport, Photo

Proof of funds - current account, Sept statement only.

Letter from employer confirming employment, salary, and able to work remotely.

Flight dates & number only

Hotel name, with location only

Paid visa fee

Tuesday at 16.55 got email asking to upload employment contract. Did this pretty immediately. Clear instructions on email on how to do this.

Today (Thurs) at 19.52 approval email with visa attached.

It was very straight forward🙂

Hello,

Can someone please tell me how to apply from a consulate that is not your home one?

I am in thailand right now but wish to go to Hanoi (heard its the best closeby) to apply for DTV.

What is the process in doing this?

My home one is actually UK

DTV visa approved - my experience:

Currently in the UK so I applied via the e-visa website, so the UK Thai consulate handled everything.

Couple of interesting points to mention:

- it only took 4 days to approve

- the 500k was only transferred to my UK bank account a week before I applied. I only provided my august 2024 bank statement - they didn't ask for anything else

- part of that 500k was a small loan from my parents. When they transferred the money to my bank account they put "loan" as the reference. This didn't cause any issues or raise any questions.

- I applied via the medical tourism route. I asked my dentist to write me a letter detailing a couple of appointments that I have during September and next year.

Overall, I would say that my experience of applying for the DTV was incredibly easy and straightforward. Very quick and no questions asked.

Happy to answer any questions relating to my specific experience.

Been looking at the Thailand UK consulate website, there doesn't appear to be any option for a multi entry Non-O 90 day visa. Please advise.

ATTENTION MEMBERS:

(Especially US, UK & Australian ones)

Everyone knows the news is out, the US and UK consulate will STOP issuing affidavit of income from abroad notary letters at the end of this year AND the Australian consulate will stop issuing Stat Dec notaries for income on the 7th of January 2019.

DO NOT post another thread about it. We have deleted 15-20 threads so far.

At this time <- meaning right now today, there are NO new provisions to meet the financial requirements for marriage, being over 50 (retirement) or raising half-thai children (the only extensions which would accept the affidavit of income notary letters).

While I am sure the immigration office WILL come up another way to meet the financial requirements (other than straight banked money) at this time they haven't.

I can't see any reason to let topics run wild with speculation on what they will or won't do until they actually come out with something official. Sorry.

What we do know is that after Dec 12th you can't apply for the UK consulate notary affidavit AND after Dec 31st you can't apply for the US consulate one. <- Those things are not up for discussion, they are facts :(

It appears that the consulate letters are still valid for 6 months from the date they're issued (meaning that police order has NOT been rescinded). What is not clear is whether letters issued BEFORE the end of the year will be accepted AFTER the new year or not (for the 6 months they are valid). I'm sure we'll find out soon.

FWIW: I go out to the immigration office EVERY Thursday (because I like the food court there ;) ) and I will check every time I go to see if there is any update on anything.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding during this difficult time. I will leave this thread open for discussion BUT if it gets crazy I'll shut it right down, okay? Keep it civil and keep it ON TOPIC.
