Question with regards to METV. Does it start from the issue date, how long the process takes and it says I need to go to the conulsulate ? (UK).

Answer summary

The METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) validity begins from the date of issue. You can apply online, and while the official processing time can take 4-6 weeks, many users have reported receiving their visas in as little as 4 days. It's advisable to plan your application accordingly, especially if you want the visa issued close to your travel date. Extensions are possible, allowing for additional stays within the visa's validity, contingent on conditions like exiting and re-entering Thailand.

When I entered they dated from the date of entry. Seeing comments here, it seems to depend on the immigration officer. Ask the embassy, not facebook

Can I ask them to issue it as close as possible to my arrival date in Thailand?

Also Google suggests the processing time may take 4- 6 weeks?

For the UK they will tell you to allow 4-5 weeks to apply for your visa before travelling but the last 2 times I applied, it was processed in no more than 4 days.

Yes, it starts from the issue date. You apply online as you do for every visa now, but you have to be in a location served by the consulate you choose

It starts from date of issue. You apply online, often issued within 7 business days.
