Just checking if anyone has been able to provide verification to Thai Immigration for the >40,000 baht pension entitlement payments (paid direct to a UK bank). I believe the UK /EmbassyConsolate (along with others) no longer provide assistance/letter of verification with this part of the Thai visa renewal process - need info to start the process of getting the ducks in a row for August Marriage visa renewal so all information is appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the difficulties of verifying pension entitlement payments for the Thai marriage visa renewal, especially in light of the UK consulate's cessation of providing affidavit letters since 2018. Participants emphasize the necessity of transferring at least 40,000 baht monthly for 12 months to meet the income proof requirements. Alternatives such as maintaining a 400,000 baht balance in a Thai bank account for 2 months before applying are suggested as potential solutions for upcoming extensions.

For the first extension you don’t need to show a full year of deposits right? Just a few months?

, you said you were transferring in 3 month intervals, and switched to monthly <- which is good, because that rule is written super specifically as must transfer a minimum of 40K baht each month, every month for the preceding 12 months before you apply for your next extension. You can't do 80K and then skip a month thinking it will average out to 40 each month πŸ˜• They are hard as nails on it. I know one fella who transferred money at the end of the month, well, one month took longer to clear, rolled over into the next month so he had two transfers that month and none the previous month, he was denied his extension.

You are correct, the UK consulate has not provided the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter since the end of 2018 πŸ˜•

That means the only way you can show proof of funds here using monthly income method for any extension is to transfer in to a thai bank account from abroad a minimum of 40K baht a month, each month, every month for the preceding 12 months before you apply for your yearly extension. The transfers have to code in your bank book here as international transfers.

There's no other way to meet monthly income method as a Brit (short of legally working here, holding a work permit and having a salary over 40K a month)

I would say IF you have an extension comin' up in august even if you did start now transferring 40K a month in when the time rolls around to apply for your next extension you will not have 12 months like they require.

I think the only way you're gonna get the extension this year is banked money by having the 400K baht in your account for 2 months before you apply for your extension

That's about the way I saw it. The 400k ain't a problem for this year's as it's been sitting in the bank since the last visa escapade. I have also been transferring amounts via Wise in three monthly intervals, however, just to save them needing a calculator, I will change that to monthly transfers from now on. Many thanks for the info... much appreciated!

Be careful of Wise transfers. I'm not sure they show as overseas transactions.
