TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai Embassy in Hull does not specifically mention a 90-day pre-retirement visa, but applicants can apply for a 90-day Non-Immigrant O visa there. It is advisable to check the latest information on the Hull consulate's website and possibly call them for confirmation since their visa application pages may not be active. All applications for Non-Immigrant visas need approval from the Thai Embassy in London.

You can get Non immigrant visas by applying to the Thai Consulate in Hull but all applications have to be approved by the Embassy in London.

About 70 quid you just need to email some info which they send to Thai embassy for approval then you go to Hull

I converted mine then to one year extension based on retirement

The pages for applying for various visas seem to have been switched off but best to call them to get the latest info. They are very good on the phone.

Thanks for raising this question Mark. I’m in a similar position and will be applying for the Non-Immigrant Type O visa as I’m aged over 50. The Royal Thai Embassy in London has recently opened for consular services except visa applications so I believe Garrett’s feedback is correct. The embassy provide this email address for visa enquiries:

That's fellas

It's not open at the minute

But they are requesting application in lieu of flights

I thought I needed London but Hull is so much easier

The Thai embassy in Hull can now issue an O visa if you meet the age and financial requirement, without sending passports to London for clearance.

I have been issued one on the day,for my last trips there.

Thanks for this feedback Ronald - this is really helpful. Do you need to book an appointment with them in advance of your visit day?

So there is no “pre retirement,” there is a Non-O based on being retired which requires you to be over 50 years old and meet the financial requirements.

However, to the best of my knowledge, the embassy is not issuing visas currently until flights back into Thailand resume.

. Hull have said that it's ok to send in visa applications. They won't be processed, but they'll be higher up the pile when normal services resume
