Came to Chaeng Wattana immigration for a Non B extension and the officer on the counter told me to go to the south where my previous visa was issued and stamp the passport with a cancellation stamp.

That visa has been expired and I even travelled abroad and got a new Non B already.

Has anyone ever been in the same situation?

I had worked on Non-B visa and work permit for 6 years in Bangkok. When I left the job, my boss took the work permit back stating he will cancel it. And I just flew back to my country. Of course on immigration they said I have a non-b visa and it will be cancelled if I don’t take re-entry permit and I did tell them that it’s ok.

My question is that if I try to apply non-B again in future would it be any issue? If yes, would there be any penalty as I didn’t deliberately go to immigration and canceled it?

Thanks,

Doe's anyone know anything about Non B visa's & work permits? Unfortunately I had to cut my work permit short in January as I need to return home for a few months due to a back injury, I informed my office and was given a BOI work permit cancellation letter which states the day that I left work and the day that I need to leave the country.

I was told I didn't need to do anything else apart from leave the country on or before the date stated in the letter. I'm now hearing that I should have gone to the Labour office and cancelled my Non-B visa before I left the country as it can cause complications when returning or trying to find work again.

Will I have any problems when returning or do you think I'll be fine?

Any help will be highly appreciated :)

Note: I actually went to immigration to get some advice about this and they didn’t have a clue.

A Question that properly been up here before :) My friends workpermit and employment is expired this month, but his Non B will expire in December. He wish to go next week to Sawannakhet and change to a Non O. Question is do he need to have his Non B cancelled first or can he just cross the border and apply for the new visa? TIA

If a work permit and non-b visa ends in March, what is the process for cancelling the visa? Also, how quickly does one have to leave the country after the visa/permit is cancelled? -- since I have heard rules changed on this recently. Many thanks

I'm currently on a multiple entry education visa that is good through June if I keep extending it. My current extension expires March 9. I"m getting a job but the company is requesting I leave and come back on a TR visa in order to get the work permit. Do I need to cancel my Education visa before I leave?

Retirement visa (from an O visa) with multi-re enter must be canceled before you leave the country if you wish to change to Non B. Leave on the day of cancelation. There is no legal way to do otherwise according to Thai immigration!!!
