I am a Canadian citizen and I want to start getting a DTV Visa. What do you think is the best source of accurate information in organizing this for myself. I have been in Thailand for six months now on two Visa exemptions with their extensions. I am gonna be leaving for a little bit and I guess I will be in Argentina and Vancouver Canada. Are there any particular places that are best to apply from? I don’t really know anything about it yet so I’m really just looking for a good source of information. Thank you. Also, my partner and I have two children, age 2 and 11. Do they need a visa because in general, I noticed that people do not worry about getting the children visas as long as they stay in the country and are below the age of 16.

Also next year I qualify for a retirement visa. Are the children covered under that and which age are they covered under that? And do you have to be officially married in order to get your spouse of Visa as well? Or does Thailand recognize common law marriage in some form?

Thank you so much.

I got my DTV Visa! Thanks, everyone, for all the help. Now... I need to get my wife and kids. Question, on the visa they ask for "document indicating current location" for my wife, she has a driver's license from our address from 15 years ago, not our current address (AZ drivers' licenses last until you are 65 so having the same ID even when you move is very common) We do have a water bill in her name. Do you think this will work? Second question, how do I prove this for my kids when they have no ID or bills in their name at our address?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

We are UK citizens applying for 60 day tourist visas through the E Visa system and it’s asking for proof of current location. Do I even have to show proof of current location for my children?

Hi everyone. I have just applied for my METV and will be traveling with my 19 month old son into Bangkok. Does he also need his own METV? And if so, can I just upload all of my documents (such as proof of funds, etc) in his application? How would I clarify that the reason it’s my name on the documents is that I’m his mother? There is no place to upload a birth certificate or such. TIA!

If I and my partner get year-long Education visas, how does our (British) 6-month son stay? Is a dependent visa possible? I get conflicting info. If not something else? Thanks

Hi, I just wanted to double check something. I recently gave birth to a child in Thailand, he has a Thai birth certificate but not Thai nationality. I heard that he does not need a visa to stay in Thailand until he is 12 years old? So if I were to leave the country with him and reenter he just needs his passport and his Thai birth certificate and translation, but no visa? Just wanted to make sure I have the right information. Thank you!

I have lived in Thailand for 5 years volunteering, however I am no longer volunteering, and I am looking at returning and doing an education visa. I am curently in USA, I am wondering a few things, 1. when I return to thailand, do I need to show proof of departure from Thailand? we bought round trip tickets from thailand, so I currently don't have a departure ticket. 2. Can my kids follow on a Ed Visa? they are homeschooled. 3. Can a spouse follow on a Ed Visa?
