has anyone had the bank refuse to open my account as a wealthy ltr visa holder unless my l lease is for 2 years. they just told me this after 1.5 months trying to open. it was determined after a higher review that they must have done besides the branches.
Answer summary
A wealthy LTR visa holder experienced difficulties opening a bank account due to a branch's demand for a two-year lease agreement, despite prior attempts over 1.5 months. Community members suggest alternatives, like seeking banks known for being expat-friendly, obtaining a residency certificate for immigration purposes, and utilizing BOI resources for assistance.

Still having problems opening an account? I believe last time everyone recommending going through the BOI for assistance and going to a bank in the One Bangkok building.
Darren Thomas probably need a permanent address and if your staying in a hotel you’ll want to open it in the area your going to live, there’s a lot of things you can only do at your home branch
The first Kasikorn branch in Siam Paragon refused to open an account because they said the LTR was not a nonimmigrant visa. It isn’t but so what? It’s a 10 year visa. The 2nd branch in One Bangkok opened an account without questioning it.
You may need a residency certificate from immigration. I get mine at the One Bangkok Immigration Office.
The bank branch you went to doesn't want you as a customer so they made up a rule to get you to leave. Are you following the BOI process to get a bank account?
