does any one know if its possible to get your bank statement online through your banking app instead of going in to the bank to order and wait a week for it. For yearly extension.
Answer summary
The conversation reveals mixed experiences regarding obtaining bank statements for visa extension purposes in Thailand. While some users report that certain banks like UOB and Krungsri allow online access to bank statements, most participants emphasize that an official stamped letter from the bank is typically required for immigration. Bangkok Bank users often mention delays in statement availability and the need to visit branches for required documentation. Each bank and immigration office seems to have different standards, complicating the process.

If you are thinking about getting it for a extension of stay then it wouldn't help as you also need a letter from the bank. I would change banks if you have to wait for a statement, I'm with Kasikorn and they can print a 12 month statement at any branch without having to pre-order it. I keep the 800k in a Pattaya branch and the Khon Kaen branch prints the statement and letter for my extension.
Kgrunsgri did my one year statement while i waited in Udon thani. They had to contact the head office in Bangkok first and I paid one hundred baht. Total time was about 30 minutes.
I had statements, but they would only accept a signed letter from Bangkok Bank, and the bank Refused. I had open an account at Kasikorn Bank and do the deposits for the next 12 months and then I can get my 800,000 back because Kasikorn will provide the needed letter.
Yeah, just go to statements, then select the period you want a statement for and download. Mine get sent to my email address, and I use my passport number as a password.
John Pollins thats who im with. Never been a problem. Im in peturbun provence. Every three months i go to the bank they stamp it up i take in to imagration no issues.
Did this last week and this is the only answer you need if you are with Bangkok Bank.
Yes, your app has the facility to produce a statement going back 12 months. You can print this out. But you still have to go to branch to get the accompanying letter. They will sign the letter and the statement. This will save you a week (the time it normally takes to get the statements), and means you only have to visit branch once. My extension was given with no issues.
My statement was emailed within one minute.
*Note - I have 800k in account, no other transactions and the book has to be updated same time as the letters and statement signed.
TaupeRaspberry5284 That is exactly what I want if it can work, one trip get all papers, did you use your mobile banking app. Wait a week for a a statement is ridiculous. I live in a rural area closet bank is 5o kilometers. So you got an email, then printed out the statement, then went to bank , up date passbook, get certificate paper from bank and then they sign and stamp you statement , is that correct. I put the money in an fixed account, it was supposed to make it so that no statement was needed, of course that fell through quickly.
TaupeRaspberry5284 Having 800k in the bank is not the same as monthly, 800k will most likely be a single page, maybe two, monthly income can be many more, I used the same account for all my transactions for many years and to go the income route with a bank statement it was a stack of paper, not something you could just print and they'd trust it was correct in the bank ๐
Yes, itโs why I mentioned this very fact at the end. But the bank would check the printed monthly statements against your book, and stamp each page etc etc โฆ you know they love paperwork !
I use the monthly income method and printed my 12 month statements, then took them to Bkk Bank and they stamped them and issued their letter etc for Hua Hin immigration.
I highly doubt they'd stamp and sign statements YOU printed without checking first, I mean how easy would it be for you to edit them to your needs and then get them signed with no checks, the agencies would lose their businesses over night ๐คฃ
Be honest, you went to the bank, they printed them, got the manager to stamp and sign them, they gave you the confirmation letter and updated your bank book right ;)
If you could go with a pre printed statement, get it stamped and get the letter with no checks then you are paying somebody, how did they deal with the bank book? ๐คฃ
Stuart Chiverton Why would bank staff put themselves in a situation of possible fraud?
I didn't dispute you doing it yourself, it's easy, I've been doing it myself for over a decade, almost two ๐
What I am disputing is that you printed off statements and took them to the bank where the bank staff stamped them, the manager signed them and gave you a confirmation letter without checking first ๐
I'd assume you went to the bank and they saw what you wanted so printed off a fresh statement for you on bank headed paper (as required by immigration) signed them, gave you the letter and threw the statement you brought to them in the rubbish bin ๐คฃ
I can get a 12 month statement from my Bangkok bank app. But the bank needs a few days to get one. ๐
However for Chonburi immigration the banks has to give me a signed statement proving that I have the เธฟ800 in the bank. After which the immigration officer was happy to see a printed version of my soft copy statement.
I guess you're talking about bangkok bank. You have to be careful with the online statement as it might not cover the period you need to show at immigration, when you get a 12 month statement online it only shows the current month and the previous 11 months. If you're using the 800k method immigration want to see the statements going back beyond the date you got your current extension which might not be possible. You can however when you fill out the form in the bank requesting statements ask for them to be emailed to you and they usually arrive just after lunch the following day covering whatever period stipulated on the form.
As Ian stated above some immigration offices may want you to get them stamped by your bank
You can get it for a short while but if you order it Bangkok Bank it will hit your email the next day all signed and stamps but you have to go to the bank office and get the letter on the same day it hit your email
Peter Weedall ๐ค I'm considering using UOB. As I'm able to open an account in my own country. Therefore, to open another in Thailand would be ideal. That's my thought. I wasn't sure until I saw your post. That gave me some confidence.
You obviously have never seen a yearly bank ststement it is pages and pages like a sheet of wallpaper. So big our IO just glances at it and puts it down sgain
Stephen Warner my SCB bank branch told me they could get a one-year account statement on the spot. Maybe you should open an account in a bank that is able to print your statement on the spot.
