Hi. Advice on which Thai bank is best for savings account for young foreigner on student visa?
Thank you in advance.
Answer summary
The best Thai banks for a savings account for a young foreigner on a university student visa include Kasikorn Bank, SCB (Siam Commercial Bank), Krungthai Bank, and Krungsi Bank. To open an account, it's advisable to obtain a support letter from the university. In addition, banks may request a residence certificate from immigration, so it's beneficial to have this prepared.

There's still a chance that the bank will want to see a residence certificate from immigration. But you're out nothing by getting a support letter from the school and trying with that.
What type of education visa? Is it an education visa based on attending university, or an education visa based on informal education (such as Thai language school or Muay Thai)?
If it's based on a university, then you shouldn't have any problems getting an account. Ask your school for a support letter which the bank might want to see. Kasikorn is probably the most popular bank, as many are avoiding Bangkok Bank now.
If it's based on informal education, then the odds of getting a bank account are low. Banks have not supported accounts for this type of visa for some time now. You can ask your school for a support letter and if they have any recommendations on what bank branch to try at, but I would not count on getting a bank account.
