Here is a laugh for you all as we approach the weekend. I know, opening up for the trolls, but as low as I now feel, it won't matter.
Had everything lined up for the DTV, waiting for stocks/investment release for the last piece of the jigsaw. Booked ready for the weekend in time for 30 day extension to finish. Email just arrived and due to various reasons the funds cannot be released for another year. I will have to reconsider my options
Good luck everyone. Maybe I will rejoin in a year... 😄 👋
My ? Is more opposite of most here. I have a female friend in Bangkok and she has tried 4x for a tourist visa and has been denied each time. Why is it so hard. What do we have to do to get a tourist visa. To USA. Thank you Didn’t know it was so difficult!
Hi. I'd like to inquire about the 180-day extension process for the Thai Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). For those who have already gone through this extension review, could you share your experience? I'm particularly interested in understanding how rigorous the examination is - is it relatively straightforward to get approved, or is it as stringent as the initial application?
Currently, I'm working as a full remote employee with an indefinite employment contract, which qualified me for the DTV. However, I'm concerned that my contract might potentially end before I need to apply for the extension. If the extension requires the same level of documentation and verification as the initial application, I'm worried my application might be rejected if my contract situation changes.
I'm aware that since the DTV program only launched in July 2024, there might not be many people who have completed the extension process yet. Nevertheless, any insights or experiences would be tremendously helpful.
I have recently applied for DTV from Pakistan . I was called in for an interview on 19th March where the visa officer asked me questions on my intent to stay in Thailand and my employment evidence. He also raised a little bit of concern on my no travel history in the past . Overall, interview went well.
How many days should it take for me to hear back from them ?
If approved, what would be the next steps ?
I have read about challenges at immigration in Pakistan as well as in Thailand while getting in or out on DTV,
Is that true ? What challenges can I expect to have ? What would be the solution?
Which areas should I focus on living in Bangkok, Thailand which are digital nomad friendly and have vibrant nightlife.
Any recommendations or information would be highly appreciated 🙏
This short video may clarify why some newly arrived digital nomads encounter challenges at airports, Thai borders, or when attempting to extend their visas at immigration offices.
A Thai legal expert indicates that the concept of the DTV is largely misunderstood by many immigration officers and is, for all intents and purposes, a "made up notion."

Soft power with Discover Thai Nature
No additional documents requested. Birth date, passport number, expirations all correct, 500k in the account with 3 months provided. Same soft power invitation that others were successful with prior to the new year.
I went to the embassy in person to try to talk to someone and they just kept saying to apply online and call the phone number. They also said just fly to Bangkok and they will sort me out at the airport (lol). When you call the phone number it just hangs up when you request to speak to an operator.
You can see through the window that they are just eating oranges and playing iPhone games.
Some reports of others as well just being arbitrary rejected for all soft power ever since the change to 10 business days processing time.
