DTV E-Visa application SUCCESSFUL šŸ™ŒšŸ»

Place of issue: Hanoi

This story has a few ups and downs so I hope it might help some of you to plan better and avoid stupid (expensive) mistakes.

We are a family of 3. My husband applied first and me and our son got the visa through his.

The first thing that went wrong was that just a few days before we arrived in Hanoi, they switched to the E-Visa system. We had read that it was easier and faster in Hanoi compared to KL (thatā€™s why we decided to come to Hanoi), but in the end, it took just as long, and we had to stay in Hanoi for 2 weeks instead of the 5 days we had plannedā€¦ so that was the first setback.

My husband applied online, and they responded within 5 days. A stupid system error, an automatic reading of the passport, entered an incorrect middle name, and because of that, they canceled the visa. He had to reapply (and pay the fees again). A day later, his visa was approved.

That same day, we applied for mine and our sonā€™s, and it took 5 business days to be granted, with nothing to add or correct (there was also a national holiday in the middle).

Important Documents for the family visa: notarized translation of the birth certificate and marriage certificate, a bank account in my name with 500,000 baht (different from the one my husband used).

Honestly, I didnā€™t know if a notarized translation was needed but I didnā€™t want to risk to get denied for that.

If we had known that you could only apply online, my husband would have come alone, and my son and I would have come once he had the visa.

We would have saved a lot on flights and hotel nights if we had done that.

Hope it helps!!

Good luck to all of you ā˜˜ļø

Hey guys!

How hard is it to get a single-entry tourist visa in Jakarta? I'm wondering whether it's worth trying there, because I have a lot of Thai tourist visas in my passport, and somewhere I noticed that it's a difficult place for people like me. ;) If not there, what country do you recommend? In Malaysia, I took visas in KL and Kota Bharu. Is Singapore ok? Maybe Penang in Malaysia?

Thx for help! :)

Good morning

My Thai gf just got denied a visa to visit the US for a few weeks.

Does anyone have a good contact to share that can advise me on the process?

Thailand was an absolute heaven for me! I have no other word to describe Thailand. Heaven on earth! The most honest people I have ever met. The most polite, the most genuine. I believe No human on earth with their right mind would hate that place. I wish I could find a job to stay there forever! šŸ„¹šŸ™šŸ½

Regarding Thai women getting tourist visas to visit USA... I think I've got a pretty good grip on the nature of the challenge and as good a plan as reasonable to move the odds in our favour. If we make it through do you think it is easier a second time? Basically, how focused should we be on trying to get everything into the first trip?

Same day departure as that of the arrival was denied to me at Poi Phet, Cambodia immigration exit.

The officer said I must stay at least one day in Cambodia.

If this wasn't the case for same day arrivals and departures through the Aranyaprathet-Poipet Crossing, it now is.

I just thought someone here would find it of interest.

Hi, with regard to opening a Thai bank account with only a tourist visa, would it help if I had a lease agreement (with my girlfriend who owns her condo)? Thanks

This is a bit backwards, but folks here know stuff so... I was reading about how hard it is for a single Thai woman without a lot of money/assets to get a visa to visit the USA. Is it easier if she is married (Thai marriage) to an American?

What is the process for someone to visit from Thailand to the United States? I have a friend (Thai National) who wants to come over to Los Angeles but she said that there's a wait of about 300 days for an interview and she's a little confused by the process.

Does anyone here have any insight as to how someone could visit the US for maybe 2 weeks to a month or longer?

She wanted to come visit in November or December.
