So, I went to Samat Prakan Immigration Office to get a 30-day extension (necessary so that I can renew my US passport), and I was given the "Notification Form For House-Master, Owner or Possessor of the Residence Where Alien Has Stayed." I brought this back to my small hotel, and was eventually put in contact with the owner via phone. He said sorry, cannot help. I presume that I now need to change residence and have new house-master or owner fill out this form then go back to immigration?

I am staying in Thailand at the moment at my partners mansion room. But the landlord says he doesn't have to do my tm30. Is he correct and where does that leave me?

Hi,

Just a quick TM30 question. I haven’t done mine yet so I know there’ll be a fine waiting for me. However, I’m married to a thai and live in a property owned be her family. So since no documents are in my name, and I don’t have a contract or pay any rent, what would I need to provide to complete the process?

I do have a house book (tabien baan) which links me to the address

Thanks in advance

Hello there, fairly new to Thailand and unsure of visa laws.

.

.

.

A friend and I came to Thailand in September on a tourist visa. We have been doing extensions and visa runs (just came back from one last night). A friend who lives here said there would be no problems, that it's quite easy to switch visas and get work and housing, etc., but I'm quickly learning she was omitting a lot of important details that we're not sure how to handle at all, but we are stuck here for now at least until we get a bit more money.

First, housing: we signed a 1 year contract for a house in October. I didn't know the landlord or I had to report to immigration the address. What should I do about this?

Second, employment: we both just got offers at different schools. Mine has said paperwork takes about a month (they should have started last week, but I'm not sure how they are handling it since they tell me nothing) more. They aren't being very clear about anything else, so I'm not sure what to expect, especially considering my housing situation.

Third, switching work visas: assuming the job isn't to my liking, what course should one take, visa-wise, if they want to change jobs?

Any info/help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi TVA family,

Just curious, what is the worst that can happen if you (or your landlord) don't file a TM.30 housing form? Does someone just get a fine? Or can the person staying there get deported for something like this?

Backstory: I noticed a friend of mine has the same problem as a lot of people where the landlord didn't know about this form and its now a month and a half later and they want to extend their tourist visa.
