Special tourist visa extension. I'm trying to extend my visa, having arrived with 6months Axa travel insurance 50k USD coverage and now being told its a minimum 100k USD. Has the requirement changed? Any recommendation for insurer with 100k usd coverage for 3months?

#stvextension Good weekend, everyone πŸ‘‹ I am on an STV that expires on 8th April. I have started to collect the paperwork for the extension application. The Test & Go hotel has finally replied to my email (only at the third time!) asking for the ASQ certificate as asked by the Bangkok Immigration office. Well, the hotel replied with this, "while you checking out , we do already gave to you the Test result certificate.". Apart from the fact that the Covid test result didn't show any information on the hotel stay, I don't think this is what the immigration office would be asking, right? I presume it's an actual document telling them that I stayed at the hotel on this date with the Test & Go scheme? Or maybe I am misunderstanding?

Or is there a different wording that I can use/terms from the Thai government that I can use to make them understand what type of document they need to provide?

I don't have an actual hotel booking confirmation from them either, as I had booked another hotel originally who then moved me here when they were asked to change to hospitel. The change was made 2-3 days before leaving for Thailand. The original hotel chased them a few times to get me an actual confirmation booking, but by the time I had arrived in Bangkok it had still not arrived, so I'm not sure they are very organised!

Thank you as always for the help πŸ™

Hi all πŸ‘‹ Sorry for the weird questions. I have never requested visa extensions so it's all new to me... I've flown into Thailand earlier this month on an STV from the UK. I'm starting to look into an extension as ideally I'd like to stay the full 270 days. My current STV expires on 8th April but I'd like to get things ready a bit earlier just in case πŸ˜…

I have a few questions:

1. What's the Bangkok office location for the STV extension? Chaeng Wattana? (IF I stayed in Bangkok until April, that is, then I guess I can apply to the closest immigration office wherever I am? I don't know where I will be as I have loose plans)

1. What documents do I need to bring apart from an extension application form (I guess I can find it at the office?), passport, TM6 (needed?)? Do I need to buy another 3 months of travel insurance? With the same provider as bought initially?

1. I guess I need a TM30? I'm currently staying in a condo and my landlady said she'll do the TM30 for me. I presume I'd need to get in touch with the hotel I stayed at before this condo (still here in Bangkok) and ask them for this form? And the same for the Test & Go hotel? Do you need a TM30 for each hotel you stay at?

1. Do I need a police check and a medical document? I wasn't asked for these when I applied for the STV in the UK by the way

1. I presume I'd have to book and pay for three months' of accommodation and an outbound flight. I'm planning to move around with no fixed programme. When I did the STV I didn't pay for hotels in advance...

Thank you for your help 😊

Hello together,

has anybody managed to extend their Special Tourist Visa (STV) after the last regular extension of 90 days?

Immigration Office on Koh Phangan told me that it is not possible to get a covid-extension. They also stated that it is not possible to transfer to an education visa or similar.

Is there any way to stay in Thailand with a STV after 270 days?

Thanks in advance!

Hi All, yesterday I went to apply for my Special Tourist Visa (STV) extension for another 90 days in BKK, and was told I had everything in order except for 1 document: The ASQ certificate from Department of disease control issued by the hotel you first quarantine in.

I arrived in Phuket on Oct 31st, on the first version of the sandbox program. I am double vaccinated from Canada. At the time, all you needed was to quarantine until you get your first negative test taken at the airport. I got mine within 24 hours. Then you were to free to leave your Hotel as long as you stay in phuket. I checked out on Nov 15th, but was not given this form. From what I understand, the hotel was not issuing this document at the time. I reached out to the Hotel, and they claimed they could not issue this document for me, but will look into it with immigration and see what they can do. I'm a little worried, but have some time, my current visa is valid until Jan 28th.

Question1: Am i missing something here? It feels like I'm being squeezed out due to changing requirements due to covid.

Question2: Any recommendations as to how i should proceed?

Thanks in Advance! I believe everything will work out, but the doubt is starting to creep in.

Can someone please tell me (from experience only) what documents were you required to show during the first/second STV extension in Bangkok?

FYI re STV extension if you were here before they extended the programme.

This is the information my local immigration office (Laem Ngop in Trat) provided today to confirm we could do a 2nd extension. They play things very much to the letter of the law so it might not be the case elsewhere. Best to double check with your local office still!

Requires and costs stay the same.

Hello

My boyfriend is going to extend his STV for the 2nd time tomorrow.

May I ask if we still have to book the queue and which office is the right one to do the extension nowaday? Is it the office at The Government Complex Building B at Chaeng Watthana?

Thank you πŸ™
