If I arrive on Visa free entry and then change to non o retirement through an agent so I can stay 6 months will there be a problem upon entry initially with a return flight 6 months from entry? If so how can I do it?
I’m currently in Thailand on a Multi Entry Tourist visa ( METV) . I’m staying with my girlfriend and we have been to Immigration and registered myself as living there on her house document . (Yellow card I believe ) . I am shortly leaving Thailand to visit Vietnam for about a week before returning to her house again .
My question is do we have to register myself as living at her house on my return with immigration again . ?
I am hoping that sometime soon I'll be looking at a retirement visa in Thailand. The wife and I have spent significant time there and feel at home in Chiang Mai in a way we never have anywhere else. However, I want our next trip to be exploratory and long. I'd like to spend 4 to 6 months in SE Asia, visiting other places (we've been to every country in SE Asia, but never had time to do more than play tourist).
So I want a visa that will let me come and go for those 4 to 6 months and spend more than 60 days in Thailand. Maybe more than 90. I've been up and down the Thai embassy list of visas, and the closest I can find is the Digital Nomad visa. Do I have to actually have a job as a digital nomad to qualify? Can posting photos to Facebook count? Or is there some other visa that really does cover what I want?
In September I applied to the Embassy in London for a 6 month Multi entry Tourist e-Visa sending all the necessary documentation which included as specifically asked for my date of departure and return using Emirates. My flights were leaving the UK on 26th October and returning on the 7th April next year.
I received the e-Visa quite quickly but I noticed that the dates were different to what I applied for, namely valid from 10th Setember until 8th March 2026.
I immediately sent an e-mail to the Embassy asking if I was OK until my return flight on 7th April but got no response so I send another with the same result.
I then send a long hand letter with all the attachments but yet again I have received no response.
I have some important engagements late March next year and I'm getting really concerned about my travel arrangements. Am I worrying needlessly and will this e-Visa cover me for my planned stay. Some advice would be appreciated.
Hi 👋🏾 What are the advantages to getting a multi entry tourist visa vs. visa on arrival? I would still have to leave every 60 (or 90 w/extension) days, right? I have US passport. Thx.
