I understand that i can

Re-enter to Thailand if I have the multi entry tourist visa, but do I need to show a departure flight after 2 month every time I enter Thailand ? I want to stay in Thailand 5 month and I only have that return ticket
Answer summary
When re-entering Thailand on a Multi Entry Tourist Visa (METV), you generally do not need to show proof of onward travel. Most travelers with a valid METV report rarely being asked for this documentation at immigration. However, some airlines may require a return ticket within 60 days of arrival. It's also worth noting that immigration officers may ask for proof of onward travel depending on individual circumstances or prior travel history.

I've just been through the process of applying for the 60 day multi entry tourist visa for my Vietnamese partner to enable her to stay with me for 6 months in Thailand. The only issue the visa officer wanted confirmation of was the flight details of her departing Thailand at the end of the total and specifically not any flights made to ensure compliance with the 60+30 days in Thailand.

I’ve never been asked for one and have entered and left many times in the past 15 years

Don't forget your DTAC even if you have a valid visa

Everything else is to be considered as scam since they will charge you for the service.

TDAC is free.

The issue might be with your airline who may want to see an onward tickets within 60 days of each arrival

as a rule you do not need to show onward travel when you stamp in to thailand, people with valid METV's are only very rarely asked for it

No disrespect but vague info is not very useful. People need to know for sure.

there is a slim chance the officer at passport control will ask for onward travel stamping back into the country, but that is usually triggered by previous entry stay history.

No one can give a definitive answer to the question because it's the officer they're standing in front of that decides whether to ask for onward travel or not

Yes I realise that, therefore I make sure I'm covered from all angles. However, if they make loose rules, it will encourage some people to not bother about making copies/screenshots of bank statements, proof of address in the UK, and proof of what they last had for dinner before entering Thailand. By the way..the TDAC takes a fair degree of attention to complete correctly, so everyone better have all their information to hand, even the postal code of the hotel they will be staying in for just one night in Bangkok.

then if you're coming in free stamp or on a tourist visa you should know you CAN be asked for proof of funds, proof of onward travel and proof of lodging, although very few people who are real tourists are asked for any of that

Good reply and I am not criticising you, but if I've followed all the rules then I don't want any individual officer to be standing there who may either ask or not ask.

As long as you leave Thailand after 90 days in order to come back in - Probably Not

The way a 6 month METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) works is you get 60 days when you stamp in, you can extend that once for 30 days, then you have to exit/re-enter thailand to get another 60 day entry stamp. You do that for as long as you're planned stay or as long as the visa is valid for
