Hi im just looking for a bit of information. Me and my husband and my father want to stay in Thailand for 3 months at the start of next year coming from the UK i know you can get a via for 30 days but how do we get a visa do we need? Thanks in advance
Answer summary
For a stay of 3 months in Thailand, you should apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) which grants you 60 days upon arrival. You can then extend this visa for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office, totaling 90 days. Note that the 30 days exemption is a common misconception; there isn't a specific 30-day visa. It's also advised to check options for a Multi Entry Tourist Visa (METV) if you plan to enter Thailand multiple times within a six-month period.

I would try Scott’s visa based in London
Thy have helped me with all my visa applications for year highly recommend
Get a single entry tourist visa gives you 60 days with the choice of extending for 30 days for b1900..or METV valid for 6 months still get 60 days 90 with the extension but can enter the kingdom multiple times in the 6 month period
Will Den they are all over 50 so best to get Non-O visas so then there then will be no trip to Immigration for extensions and no proof of onwward travel needed as they'll get 90 days on entry
60 days visa exempt may still be available next year you can add another 30 days extension if it does change to 30 days visa exempt and extension which is easy adds 30 to make 60 there is also a metv multi entry tourist visa but if you are going to exceed your visa exempt plus extension it would probably be easier to visit a nearby country such as laos for a couple days then return visa exempt again
Bent Sennenwaldt with a tourist visa, the period of the visa validity and the period of the admitted stay should never get confused. The single-entry tourist visa is a 60-days visa, that has a validity for the use for one single entry, of 90 days
Bent Sennenwaldt valid for 90 days from the issue date, allowed to stay in Thailand for 60 days. It can be extended for 30 days at a local immigration office for ฿1,900.
Thanks very much Brandon yes it was 60 days sorry as we are just back. I wasnt sure if it would be a retirement visa. I know that the imagination office is in Hua Hin Blueport. Thanks for the advise.
Nicola Jardine there is no retirement visa as such, there is an extension on a 12 month non immig visa for reason of retirement which means you remain tourist category even in retirement ..... these days I would look at what visa suits your needs and apply for that.
Ian May there is nothing such as a 12-months retirement visa - the only retirement visa you can get, is for a 90-days admitted stay. The 365-days Non-ImmO/A Visa is a "Longstay Visa", it is not a retirement visa . . there is no extension for a 90-days visa. There only is a 1-year extension of the stay permit. The extension is not a visa
Retirement visa is only for 50+. I looked at your profile before answering and didn't think it would apply to everyone, maybe your father. But if even one of you is going to go to the immigration office for an extension, might as well make it a family affair.
well if that's the case, you could go with the non-O visa for everyone then. It will save you a trip to immigration, which can take many hours depending on what office you have to use.
There's no such thing as a 30 day visa to Thailand.
You can apply for a single entry tourist visa online through the e-visa system. This will give 60 days on arrival. You can also apply one time for a 30 day extension from your local immigration office. That's 90 days (not 3 months) so you would need to plan accordingly. Note that the day you arrive counts as day 1.
