does anyone have experience applying for dtv or retirement visa from South Africa?

I'm based in Cape Town, no Thai embassy. Closest embassy is Pretoria.

Is physical presence at the embassy required or can everything be done online?

Question, is it easier to apply online from America, or to go into an embassy and start applying while you’re there ?

I'd like to say a big thanks to Tod Daniels. I was struggling doing a TM30 online and using the search on this page, I found his clear instructions and it worked well.

Is it mandatory that I apply for my next 90 day extension in person after traveling outside Thailand? I read that you can't do it online if you re-entered from another country.

Hello everyone, does anyone know if it’s possible to apply for the DTV visa online from anywhere in Indonesia? Or is it necessary to go to the embassy in person in jakarta? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello. I'm not sure why I keep getting rejected when doing the online 90 day report. It keeps saying- "This online application can be submitted 15 days in advance until the due date of notification."

I have already submitted it twice: Jan 14 & 16.

My due date is Jan 28.

Am I understanding it wrong? Does it have to be before 15 days of due date?

I was trying to apply for DTV online from UAE.

At the payment gateway, I received this message (refer to image)

I tried creating a new application and doing it all over again, same error.

Can you only submit one page per document when applying online? I am trying to submit a file with multiple pages but only the first page shows up when I click preview .

DTV obtained, Los Angeles consulate. Rejected first try. Received email after 4 grueling weeks that I had not typed my name exactly the same or had added or removed a space in typing my name, so different compared to my passport. Lost the $400, nonrefundable - that hurt! No response from Thai Evisa folks about details for my rejection. LA consulate responded by email just saying the money is nonrefundable and I would have to do a new application. Applied again, though I didn't know the exact mistake I made. Carefully typed my name...

Received based on Workation. I have a LLC, incorporated a few years already, and work is now done online. I sent incorporation paperwork, local city business license paperwork, and an affidavit (Googled examples of this after reading notes on this forum) attesting I am the owner, sole worker, all work done online, will have no Thai clients, etc. Sent current account statements. Driver license for proof of residency. Copy of passport. Current photo.

Everything same as first application. Paid again. Approved this time in approx 10 days.

Have the rules changed around the TM47 online application recently?

Just got rejected with

“For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required.”

For the last few years I’ve always been able to submit online even on the first notification.

EDIT: For the record, I had my landlord update my TM30 online, then re-applied for TM47 online. Same error. So for now it seems you definitly have to go in-person for first notification, at least in Bangkok.
