TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV visa in Laos, you primarily need to complete the application online and receive a QR code. You must print this QR code and bring it to the embassy to pay the fee, as they do not require any other documents during the visit. It's important to note that the embassy may not allow entry and the process is primarily handled online.

You go to embassy to pay a fee. Once you complete the application process you receive a qr code. Print it out and take it to embassy to pay at the counter. They scan the qr code this links your payment to the application. Only accept cash in baht. I’ve just done mine in Laos.

Alan Turnbull I was in and out for my job on visa on arrival then told me to get DTV at Phuket airport immigration after a year.

I went down the remote worker route so I submitted 6 months bank statements, proof of funds 500k, few client contracts. Then just my passport and a copy of the Lao’s entry stamp on it for proof of location. I did send hotel booking but the asked for the entry stamp.

so what did you submit just the proof of 500k and course docs

You do not need to go to Embassy, in fact they won’t let you in, it’s all online.

Before asking any other questions, read the Embassy website, and use the search option

pardon me but you are WRONG. Laos is different.

You MUST go to the Thai Embassy or Consulate in Laos to PAY FOR YOUR DTV VISA APPLICATION FEE IN PERSON.

AND they may ask questions during a request for an interview with the applicant.

Hi james have you done this in laos

Alan Turnbull no BUT have read on this forum of many people who have USED the Thai Embassy or Consulate in Laos.

Which Thai Soft Power activity are you using to obtain the DTV visa?

For how many months of the course are you going to submit with your application?

Where are you going to be living in Thailand?

And attending the soft power activity course classes?

Which sponsor for the soft power activity course will you be using?

Make sure it's experienced with the DTV visa process and successful in providing the important documents supporting your application for the DTV visa.

Alan Turnbull does the sponsor have recent history of success in getting their students approved for the DTV visa? That's VERY important.

hi henrik do i just go there submit online and just wait for approval, have you been to laos to do it did you book one way floght there, then one way flight back
Henrik *****
You can not go to the Embassy, they will not allow you to apply in person.

Only online applications are accepted.

The visaprocess takes from several days to several weeks, you can not wait for approval at the Embassy, but you need to stay in the country you apply in until visa i granted, if you leave it is grounds for rejection.
