Is it true that when applying for DTV as a Brit you only need to have had the 500k+ THB in your account for 1 month? And also to confirm I MUST 100% apply from my home country now, not a border run etc?
Thanks
Answer summary
The question is about the requirements for applying for a DTV visa as a British citizen, specifically regarding the need to maintain 500,000 THB in an account for one month and the stipulation to apply from their home country instead of through a border run. The comments discuss the importance of immigration history over the past year to 18 months, various visa options including the 60-day tourist visa, and emphasize the discretionary nature of immigration decisions.

If your intend is to visit Thailand as tourist and you can argue, why not.
Don't worry if you're a genuine tourist; I'll be entering Thailand for the sixth time in twenty months this December. I stayed for 59 days back in July and August, and I usually stay for about 25 days. I've never had any issues—you just have to follow the rules.
This year is kind of irrelevant. The immigration officer will look at your history over the past 12 to 18 months. If you have no history other than that one trip you should be OK
