I am aiming to go to Vientiane next week to apply for the DTV. Their site for booking appointments doesn't seem to let you book anything (thaivisavientiane.com); I hope this doesn't mean that the slots are all booked until the end of the year. Would be good to know if anyone else has any insight.

DTV Soft Power Approved!

In Person, Vientiane Laos.

Make an Appointment on their website!!

Documents Provided to the Embassy.

Fully filled out application with two photos attached.

Proof of funds. This consisted of a certified bank statement from my Thai Bank, along with a full copy of my bank book to show the original deposit of funds. (My funds have been seasoned for multiple years)

Acceptance Letter from a cooking school. (I love cooking!)

A copy of the cooking Schools DBD documents, along with a copy of the owner’s ID Card.

Signed Copy of my hotel reservation in Laos, evisa to Laos, and entry stamp into Laos.

When you make your appointment, you are assigned a number. That number didn’t seem to matter at all. Show up early on the day of your appointment. Bring a Sun Umbrella. You leave everything (including your passport) with the Embassy. Once they review your application and take your money, you are given a slip with a date and time to return to pick up your visa. If you drop stuff off on a Monday, pick-up is Wednesday. Drop off Tuesday, pick up Thursday. This is the cooking school I chose. www.bangkokthaicookingacademy.com

Hi, guys.

So I just got my DTV Visa at the thai ambassy in laos.

Just to give you heads up.They are denying a lot of visa if you don't have some type of work contract or letters to prove your legit employment abroad.

They ask For minimum three months bank statement but in some cases they ask for 6 month.

You need to have the 500k on a single bank account for that period if you just dropped 500k just before application they might deny it.

If the money is spread on several account they won't receive your application.

Also don't make any carpets with post it they hate it.

Keep it super simple.

The form with already glued pictures. Copy of passport with exit stamp of thailand and entry in laos. Well written in capital letters.

Proof of hotel in laos and in thailand.

Work contract abroad and the 3 month bank statement. The the other 3 on the side in case they ask for it.

That's enough.

If you go there asking questions they won't help you out. They will tell you to read the website. They have almost 200 applicants per day so they are pretty busy.

You need to have an appointment before going there.

Even if you queue number is 55 you can go early in the morning and drop you application they don't make you wait until it's your queue number so that's nice. They open at 9 am and People arrive at 8am.

Print everything in thailand. The places near the embassy are just crazy and want to charge you 20bath for a copy or print. Away from the amabassy you can find places that will print for 1000rip per page tho but far away.

PS if you look for a great place to eat go to "la Terrasse " great food and great price we ate there all week with my wife and kid.

In this message I'm telling you all I know. I was not able to ask any questions I had even for my wife and kid that will apply tomorrow.

Good luck to you all.

Hi all, a quick question.

My annual extension for my non B is coming up in May. I've tried to book online but fully booked for the next 3 months. My question is does anyone know if they are accepting walk-ins? This is at Chiang Mai immigration. Thanks very much 😊

Hi everyone. I'm from US and over 50. I'm in Bangkok on a 90 day Non-O visa I got in the US before my arrival to BKK and looking to get my 1 year retirement Visa extension next week. Visa expires on April 4th. Looking online and came across multiple immigration offices here. Which location is best for my needs? and can I make a online appt. ? I tried the mobile app but was unable to book the day for appt. I believe the Immigration Division 1 is the correct office. Just want to make sure in advance before going there.

Thanks in advance🙏🙏🙏

I put this as a comment to a post a few minutes ago. On reflection it is so important to British passport holders wanting to renew/replace their passport it deserves a post of its own. 1. The British Embassy has nothing whatever to do with these matters. 2. VFS act as agents for His Majesty's Passport Office in Thailand. NOW THE IMPORTANT BIT: VFS ARE RUNNING DOWN THEIR Trendy Building HQ in BANGKOK (Sukhumvit Soi 13) where they have been forever and a day. You are still OK "ish" at Trendy Building to 18.3.24. From 24.3.24 address will be VFS Thailand, The Shoppes at Belle Grand Rama 9, 131/1, 141/1, Unit BS003-BS003/1, 1st Floor, Rama 9, Huay Kwang, Bangkok, 10310. The Chiang Mai VFS office motors on as before, in fact to my eye has longer hours. However though the costs have risen a lot there ie +GBP76.50 as against Bangkok. Wherever, it is needed to book an appointment. I'm guessing that may now be difficult (?) for Trendy Building at the moment.
