Hi all! I have a driver’s license from my home country but I do not have an IDP (I forgot to get one before I left). From my understanding, I would’ve needed to have it before I entered Thailand. I saw a few posts stating you can drive without an IDP. Can someone share your experience with driving in Thailand. Is there another option if you don’t have an IDP? Thanks for your help! 😀

Is it a slam dunk to get a 30 day extension on the 30 day entry stamp?

Hi we will be arriving into Thailand in a few weeks. We are UK Citizens and have been travelling Indonesia so we will be entering on the 30 day visa free entry. We would like to look into applying for a retirement visa but are so confused on which one to apply for. We are both over 50 not drawing on a pension yet but do have enough savings in the bank. Any help will be greatly appreciated. 😀

My husband and I, both US citizens and both over 50, will be moving to Thailand very soon and plan to apply for the Non-O visa. Regarding the bank account, will we both need separate accounts each with 800,000 baht?

The more people I ask, the more contradictory information I receive. Many people say that when buying a motorcycle in Thailand, you do not need to register it. In my country I didn't register my cars either, even though it was theoretically necessary and the police never caused a problem. How is it here? One guy has a nice motorcycle at a good price but only has a copy of the green book. He says that all I need to bring is the purchase contract, bill, driving license and tax. Is it true?

Last night I had the misfortune to run over a dog. I am sad for the dog and sad for its owner- just a shitty situation all around.

What are the rules surrounding this? We live in an ally and when entering the dog was laying in the roadway. (I believe it is an easement for a third property). The dog eventually got up to run away, but turned and went under the wheel. :(

Dog doesn't belong unattended in the road, but I am willing to help some with the vet. But the guy is talking about needing to not work for 6 weeks to take care of the dog.
